A good way of disabling viruses is by removing entries about them in the registry. Go to Start, Run and type in REGEDIT. Go through the folders listed below: HKey Local Machine Software Microsoft Windows Current Version Run On the right hand side, you don't really need anything other than your anti virus. There will probably be lots of other stuff there though. Right click and delete it. _____________________________________________________________ On a similar note, if your pc is slow to reboot, you can speed it up by going to Start, Run and typing in MSCONFIG, go to the start up tab, and take all the ticks out, except for your anti virus. Any programs that you want to auto run, leave the ticks in, the rest you can start in the usual way. :-) |

| urghhhh Lorr, the only folder that you should be in is the last one called RUN, if there is loads of stuff in there, thats not a good thing! This folder contains all the stuff that automatically starts up when you boot your pc. All you actually need is your operating system and your anti virus, the os don't lurk in there, so you have no worries that you might accidentally delete it. Its up to you, but if you have XP you could try and set a restore date, then go and delete some shyte? |
