Baked Vidalia Onions

4 lg Vadalia onions
2 tb Butter
-OR-
2 tb Margarine
1/4 c Garlic breadcrumbs
Cut onion down to root-end in 8 wedges. Do not cut through root so onion stays together.
Divide butter in 4 pats & place 1 on top of each onion.
Sprinkle each onion with crumbs, salt & lots of freshly ground pepper to taste.
Wrap each onion separately in foil.
Bake at 350 deg-F for 45 mins. until onions are soft.
