You were always there
Ready to lend your loving care
You never turned us away
No matter what we had to say
I remember you well
My tears beginning to swell
My mother you will always be
Keeping careful watch over me
I can't believe you're gone
It's so hard, pressing on
But I remember your voice
When you said I had a choice
When I learned of Grand Daddy's death
I completely lost my breath
You said I could choose to feel the pain
Or I could choose to see the gain
You explained it to me so clear
I wanted to stand and cheer
Now I see with open eyes
What you meant when someone dies
Yes, they leave us with pain
But it is clearly God's gain
For when we die, there's nothing wrong
For God's Army is one more Soldier strong
We know you will serve Him well, mom!
We love you forever and always.
