Sour Cream Coffee Cake
2 sticks butter
1 ¼ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 cups flour
¼ t. baking soda
½ t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
Sift together flour, baking soda and baking powder. Set aside.
Cream together first three ingredients. Blend in sour cream. Add dry ingredients and stir in until mixture resembles thick butter. Add vanilla.
In a separate bowl combine ¾ cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans and 2 T. of sugar.
Grease and flour an angle food cake pan. Pour or spoon half the batter into pan. Sprinkle half the nut and sugar mixture over batter in pan. Add the rest of the batter and sprinkle remaining nut mixture on top.
Put into a cold oven and bake at 350º for 55-60 minutes.
