Healing and giving
But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the lepar....So he turned and went away in a rage
(2 Kings 5:11,12).
In this Scripture, Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, comes to the prorpet Elisha for prayer that he may be healed of his leprosy. But before Naaman could be healed he had to lean to give.
Christ said, "Give and it shall be given unto you...." I am aften asked, "What doesgiving have to do with receiving healing?" It has everything to do with it becasue if you just shut your hand into a fist, if you are angery....you are not forgiven....and you can not receive. But if you open your hand if you become interested and concerned and have compassion for others and their needs, then you put yourself in a position to recive from God.
YOu will not get healing from God as long as you are mad or angery or living in a rage. Youv'e got to calm down and realize that to give yourself totaly to God and obey, is better then sacrifice. You may attend church but that is no substitude for abedience to God. Naaman brought gifts for the prophet....and you may give generously to the work of God but this is not enough if you have not given of yourself. Naaman had always demanded and recived, but now God is telling him to give. Finaly he went down to the River Jordan and dipped seven times. He submitted himself. He obeyed, he gave himself compleatly to God and he was healded.
