I took a friend to the E.R. today and spent 3 hours with her. She was diagnosed with BP when she was 12 and is now 31. She had moved to a different town because of an abusive relationship. Having to do this, she also had to switch PDocs. This one told her to go off all of her BP meds except for Zoloft and told her that BP was over rated. She did as he said and the last two days she has been rapid cycling. I did the un ethical thing and gave her some of the meds I have since I take two of the same ones she does....I know, but she needed to do something, and I don't usually do stuff like that...

All I want to say is this, be careful when getting new Doc's. They may not think that mental illnesses is something to worry about. If they give you the same kind of info as this one did to my friend, switch doctors no matter what.

Anyway.....

This is awful, and it also makes me wonder how he will stay in pratice. Doesn't he know we pay his pay check!!! And to tell a person they aren't BP when they are, that can be a disaster. I would seek another Pdr ASAP. I wish ya friend the very best of luck.
