Butterscotch Buns

1/3 cup Butter or Margarine , softened
3/4 cup Brown sugar, packed

2 cups All purpose flour
2 Tbsp Granulated sugar
4 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Butter or margarine, cold

1 cup Milk

1/3 cup Chopped nuts

Cream butter and brown sugar together in small bowl.  Set aside.

In large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.  Cut in butter until crumbly.  Make a well in center.

Pour milk into well.  Stir to make a soft dough.  Knead 8 - 10 times.  Pat or roll out on lightly floured surface to 9 or 10 inch square.  Spread with brown sugar mixture.

Sprinkle with nuts.  Roll up as for jelly roll.  Pinch edge to seal.  Cut into 12 slices.  Place on greased 8x8 inch pan.  Bake in 425 degree oven for 15 - 20 minutes.  Invert over tray while hot.  Yield: 12 butterscotch buns.
