Apple Fritters Recipe

1 cup
1 large
1/4 cup
1/2 cup
1/4 cup
1 teaspoon
1 tablespoon
1 cup
3 cups
1 teaspoon
2 teaspoons
milk
egg
butter, melted
granulated sugar
orange juice
vanilla
orange rind
apple, chopped fine
all purpose flour
salt
baking powder
oil for frying

 

Pan Type: skillet

 

In a large mixing bowl combine the milk, egg, melted butter, sugar, orange juice and vanilla. Mix well. Fold in the chopped apples and orange rind. Add the flour, salt and baking powder. Mix until well blended.

Heat a 1/4 of an inch of oil in skillet to about 350°. Drop dough by tablespoons into hot oil. Fry until golden brown turn and cook the other side.

Remove from skillet and place onto a plate covered with paper towels to drain. Cool slightly. Place powdered sugar in a shallow dish and dredge the fritter coating each side.

Yields: 2 dozen
