This picture reminds me of another incident in my own life.. at a big, remote & visitorless lake... one evening, as we slipped off the big boat and into the quiet water to bathe... everything turned a soft baby pink from sunset... the water and the sky were exactly the same color and I couldn't tell where the horizon was! It was like being a pearl inside an oyster... if my bar of Ivory soap hadn't floated by in front of me... I wouldn't have had any visual clue as to which way was up.
