hi everyone,

i have had rsd for 5 years now.  i have rsd in my rt. hand that has spread to my face and neck and arm.  i got rsd when i went in for carpal tunnel surgery.  the hand surgeon allowed a resident to perform the surgery.  the resident cut my ulnar nerve.  neither dr. recognized that the nerve was cut.  i began developing severe burning pain in my ring and pinky fingers.  finally after 21 days the surgeon decvided to do exploratory surgery and this is when he found the cut nerve.  by that time a neuroma had grown over it and there was a lot of scar tissue .  he tried to clean it all out  and remove the neuroma.  after this surgery , rsd set in.  my rsd was not diagnosed until 6 months later and my fiurst stellate ganglion block wasn't until a year later.  i had a nerve wrapping surgery to try to shut the rsd off . this surgery required me to have a tunnewlled epidural catheter in for 3 months.  my dr. accidently overdosed me with 15 times a narcotic delivered thru this catheter.  because this surgery didn't work, i now have a peripheral nerve stimulator implanted.  the pns is implanted under my collarbone with leads sewn around my median and ulnar nerves.  soon i will need a lead revision which i am not looking forward to.  i have been thru a med/mal lawsuit and received SSD after 3 years from filing date.   i am 45, married with 2 children 13 and 11.  my previous support group was shut down due to disgruntled members.  i miss the people and wonderful support i rteceived thru that group very much.  i am hoping to meet more wonderful people thru this group as well.  thank you for listening....
