Hi everyone,

I think MSN is having trouble again. It took me several tries to be able to post. I hope all are doing ok. I haven't had a chance to get online to read any posts lately but wanted to say HI and let you know I am still here. I guess I need to give some details as to why I have not been online in a long while.
For those of you who don't know me, my husband is the one who has RSD/Casalsia/CRPS.... what every you want to name it. He has not worked in two years because of it and money has been tight. I have been working at the same company for the past 4 years and putting in a lot of overtime to help make ends meet. The end of August my company closed their doors and I am unemployed now. I have had to fight for my unemployment and have still not received my benifits. I finally got approved but it has been about 5 weeks now with absolutely no income. We have been trying to clean out our home to get a garage sale together  to make what money we can and I am trying to get my own business started so I can be more independent on how much money I can make. I have been struggling with all the leagal details and the fees to file things so it is going slow but I have been very busy trying to hussle what ever money I can. I hope you all understand my absence. I am trying to get online when I can but my time is very limited right now.
I also have my son, daughter-inlaw, and grandbaby staying with us for a short while and to top it all off our house-mate who lives in the upstairs of our home was working at the same company as I was so he is also unemployed but he finally got his first check last week so hopefully it will all smooth out soon.
I will back in action soon and hope your lives are going ok.
Scoti (my husband) is getting a little worse everyday but he doing what he can to help me get things all figured out. There's lots more to tell but I figure this is enough for now.

Talk to you all soon.
Tami

Tami,
I wish I could hug you both! I remember those days too well, the days when I first was taken off of work because of the carpal tunnel syndrome in my left hand and the RSD that followed the surgury. Then work comp illegially shutting off my monitary and medical benifits in an attempt to hide the RSD and see id I would go away. At least my wifes company didnt shut down. I can imagine what Scotti feels like, and Im sure its making him worse.
I think about him all the time wondering how he is doing, I am doing a lot worse my self, my Dr told me im moving into another stage of the disease and now the discs in my spine are deteriorating at an accelerated speed, I have gotten 2 upper eppidurals this year so far just for that.
I have read that SSD is way backed up, I hope that Scotti has already filed or is getting bennifits, I get about 1/3 of what I made working but at least it pays what bills I have, I have learned to be very frugal with my money. I bought a house with my comp settlement and I found out it was too much for me so I am moving my younger brother and his two children in with me, the kids are teenager and I lov um both as I do my brother so I know it will work.
Something to consider is Ebay, I do a lot of trading there and it makes a little extra and keeps the closets cleaned out. I was A Ford Technician all of my working life(27 years), I sold all of my tools on ebay and it put several thousand dollars in my pocket, I bought most of the tools over 30 years ago and when I sold then I got more that I paid, people buy anything on ebay...just a thought! Once I sole a single cowboy spur on Ebay not really knowing anything about it, I got over $300 for it,turned out it was  davy crockett original made by the crockett spur company in Texas in the early 18oo's...found it at a yard sale!
Well, I wish you both the best and things having a way of working out...I hope they work out for you quicker than later.
Frank

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the support and I am so sorry to hear that you are doing worse. I hope they can get it under control for you soon. Scoti is not getting SSI or SSDI. He was denied so we are still fighting for it. The stress is getting to both of us and are fighting all the time but we understand why each of us is irritable so forgiveness is easier. We manage though. His pain is super high right now.
I am glad to hear that you will have more family staying with you. It will help you a lot. Although you will have to find more patience too.
Communication has become very important in our house these days.
I really miss talking to you all and hopefully I will get more time to chat soon.
I didn't get the help wanted pages finished yet but the basic Idea is there if anyone wants to work on it more please feel free. This is a really good time to get some volunteers to help out in this group since we have so many new members and the assistants are haveing trouble keeping up with it all right now. They don't have to be assistants to help. I wish I could help out more than I am.
Thanks for the hugs too.
(((((BIG HUGS))))) back at you
Tami

Hi Tami n Scotti,
I too was denied SSDI the first time around, it was a year later before I was brought up before a judge but the difference I had been diagnosed with RSD the second time, I was getting the teswts the first time. Also, I had a total of 24 different diagnosis that the first ssd judge didnt get to see. I was shoed right in and paid back 3 years for me and my daughter, I expect the same for you Scotti :) That will help with the stress! Both of us have simalar injuries, seems like we have the same genitic problems except for the RSD I have its almost identical but we both worked hard and were both disabled when he was about 38 and I was 46...he is 8 years younger that I am.
My brother and I are bothe single and totally disabled, both of our wifes left when we became disabled. My brother and I have been thru a tought life togeather, we wont have any problems sharing my home...I look forward to it.
Good to hear f rom you
Frank

Hi all,

I am new to this group, my husband was diagnosed with RSD recently and I am learning a lot here.  I did see someone post that there is a federal law or something regarding SSI and disability.  Could someone elaborate a little for me.  He has applied, and was denied.  We just sent in his first appeal, but I would like some ammunition if you know what I mean.

Thanks to all of you,
Theresa

I'm so sorry to hear about your bad news. Why does it seem like some people breeze through life, and all the crap hits certain people. It really gets me to see so many decent people suffering, and not so decent people having it all... it's not right. Maybe you will end up getting a better job, I wish that for you. This rsd stuff really takes it's toll on everyone in the family, so I'm finding. It's good that you guys seem to support each other so much, I hope you catch a brake somewhere.I'll say a prayer for you two... gentle hugs, Dawn
