Steamier Sex Diet

By:  Sue Gilbert

Too often, the typical romantic meal consists of lots of wine and a thick juicy steak, followed by a rich chocolate dessert ï¿½?the perfect recipe for sleep, not sex. The best way to keep those libidos lit is to keep it light. By following the low-fat, low-cholesterol Steamier Sex Diet and getting plenty of exercise (to improve overall health ï¿½?as well as blood flow to the sex organs), you and your mate can enjoy a healthy sex life for many years to come. Here's how this diet can help:

?If it's good for your overall health, it's good for sex, too. That's why this diet includes low-fat, well-balanced food choices that will keep you feeling spry.

?Aphrodite was said to have been born from the sea, so many types of seafood have reputations as aphrodisiacs. This food plan includes tasty seafood options sure to stir up the senses.

?Spices such as curry, cumin and cayenne warm the body. This diet includes entrees with enough spice to heat things up.

BREAKFAST
Option One:
Strawberries dipped in powdered sugar
Fresh squeezed orange juice
Omelets
Latte

Option Two:
Grapefruit halves topped with maraschino cherry
Smoked salmon on toasted bagels with fat-free cream cheese, red onion and lettuce
Fresh brewed coffee

Option Three:
Glorious pancakes
Fresh berries
Grapefruit juice
Cappuccinos

LUNCH
Option One:
Strawberry passion soup
Assorted cheeses with whole grain crackers
Asparagus salad with citrus vinaigrette

Fresh pears

Option Two:

Salad nicoise
Tuscan grilled garlic bread
Fat-free chocolate fudge brownies

Option Three
French bread pizza
Assorted olives
Fresh sliced apples with nuts and dried fruits

DINNER

Option One:
Oyster bienvielle
Mixed green salad
Crusty sourdough bread
Poached pears

Option Two:
Chicken sauteed with artichokes
Warm parmesan bread sticks
Green salad
Fresh berries dipped in chocolate

Option Three:
Luscious lobster tail
Spinach salad
Warm dinner rolls
Low-fat chocolate flan

Healthy Dos and Don'ts

Do:
?Serve food that is delicious, different and perhaps a bit rare.
?Dish up foods reputed to be aphrodisiacs, such as artichokes, oysters, strawberries and chocolate.

Don't:
?Eat overly fatty foods, especially on the big night. Fat takes a long time to digest, all the while diverting blood flow to the digestive system and away from the reproductive system.
?Drink too much alcohol. A little can loosen inhibitions, but too much can become a sedative.

Awsome article Silken!!!  I don't know what Oyster Bienvielle is, but I'm willing to give it a shot unless it's got something to do with raw oysters.

Chicken Sauteed with Artichokes

This is an amazing dinner when combined with warm bread, a dark green salad, and Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse for dessert.

Serving: 6
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 23 minutes

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, about 6 ounces each
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
3 cups sliced marinated artichoke hearts
2 tsp. fresh thyme leaves
2 tbsp. minced fresh basil
½ cup dry white wine

1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Add the chicken and cook until browned, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Add the salt and pepper.

2. Stir in the artichoke hearts, thyme, basil, and wine and cook the mixture until the wine evaporates by half, 5 to 6 minutes. Serve immediately.

Cook's Notes: Garlic is a welcome addition to this dish. Artichokes packed in cans or jars are marinated in a briny liquid. Try Roasted Figs with Parmesan as a fabulous appetizer before this main dish.

(Awright... Now my Cheeseburger Macaroni Hamburger Helper isn't NEARLY as appetizing as it was going to be for supper... ).   Look at this:

Sauteed Steak with Caramelized Shallots in a Red Wine and Cream Sauce

A delicious meal for any occasion.

Serving: 4
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 pound boneless steak
2 tablespoon heavy cream
3 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 large shallot, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
salt and freshly ground pepper
3 tablespoon red wine

DIRECTIONS:
1. Place the meat on a plate and rub 1/2 teaspoon olive oil on each side. Rub the thyme and rosemary into the meat and let marinate until ready to cook-at least 5 minutes or up to an hour.

2. In a medium skillet, heat 1 teaspoon oil over moderately low heat. Add the shallots, onion, salt, and pepper and saute about 8 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent browning. You want the shallots and onion to cook slowly and caramelize. Remove the shallots and onion and set aside.

3. In the same skillet over moderately high heat, saute the steak in the remaining teaspoon of oil for about 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove the meat and set aside.

4. Remove any excess grease from the pan and place over high heat. Add the wine and let simmer for 20 seconds.

5. Add the cream and caramelized shallots and onion and let simmer about 3 minutes, or until thickened.

6. Thinly slice the steak and spoon the sauce on top.
