She Weaves
Somewhere past those empty holes
Further South and North than ever told,
A woman sat there face to face
With her friends inside that lonely place.
Grief & Shame sat closest then
Followed by the Distrust Of Men,
And to her left sat Doubt & Hate
Loathing sat with an empty plate.
Behind her she could see no light
Darkness swallowed and won the fight.
Fear & Anger clung near by
Ready to leap if Remorse should cry.
So she sat upon the rug she weaved
From the memories and thoughts conceived,
The years she numbered one to now
Each thread mastered by fate somehow.
She closed her eyes and dared to hear
A voice inside that wasn't clear,
A melody of forgotten dreams
The distant thunder of childhood screams.
And oh she sat and the wailing came
the rush of memories and all it's pain,
She rocked and rocked on that rug she weaved
The child inside came out to grieve.
As the sun and moon exchanged their places
Two seasons passed with solemn faces,
Disturbing not the woman's tears
Knowing Freedom had led her here.
When the anguish eased and she cleared her eyes
The beauty caught her by surprise,
For her inward journey had become her wealth
The Love she needed was inside herself.
And the rug she weaved was different now
The threads had changed to Truth somehow,
Further South and North than ever told
A woman stood with
Strength of old.
