I'm sure we've all had this happen to us. Lord knows I have. Whether it's an election involving your local union, a Mayoral, city councellor or a provincial (state govenor election for our american friends) election.
The pamphlets are sent to our homes, signs adorn buildings, vehicles and lawns, and there is the media coverage as well.
Yet, there we are, sitting in the safety and privacy of our homes and the phone rings with some jack-ass wanting to know if you are going to support his/her flunky or who it is you plan on supporting. I say.."none of your damned business" and hang up the phone.
They've gone too far I say!!! Who gave them my number...wasn't me.
As far as I am concerned they are invading my privacy and committing what I will call...."poilitcal harrassment". In today's society we have.....sexual harrassment, and that is "committed" if a comment is made that the receiver of said comment believes it inappropriate with a sexual overtone. So why can't we have the same policy for the nutbars that call us asking us to vote for some "flunky"?
Your flyers are out, you're in the paper and on the TV and radio, now you've covered the basis, sit there, shut up and hope for the best. If you did'nt get elected, take a better picture for your flyer next time that doesn't make you look like the crooked politician your striving to become, just don't call my home!
I say make it a law and if they break it, the candidate gets fined and "voted" off the island of political bliss.
Nuff said.
Opinions?
