Ofcourse not.
I am not familiar with alcohol problems in Canada or USA but here in Denmark , we have a very liberal politic. Every grocery-store, gas-station, supermarket sells beer, wine and liquor for people over 18 years. We dont have big problems because of that, other than the usual small amount of alcoholics which I guess are everywhere. The sale of liquor are not the biggest post of our economi.
I saw in Canada - well Ontario, you had liquor-stores, the only place where you can buy liquor except for bars, for me as a Dane, that is a very shocking experience , not used to that.
I smoke, I drink and like a beer and a glas of wine, it would be unheard of ,if I couldnt get that. I believe in peoples own choice regarding that, a few cant control it, why should that punish us all ?
If you look at the costs for society, there is a much worse problem , especially in USA/CANADA - owerweight ! mostly because of bad eating habits. (read junk-food, burgers etc,)
all the seekness and treatment, which follow that is a much much larger post for society. Should all food be banned then ? Should burgers be banned ?
