Dreams: God's Forgotten Language

Have you ever thought about how great it would be to have a hot-line to Heaven? Whether it was to contact our Creator for questions and answers, or to connect with a loved one on the other side?

Well, dreams are that hot-line. The Bible, both old and new testaments are full of stories of dreams& dreams that warned and protected, dreams that inspired, dreams that told of the future and of God's will.

The early church regarded dreams the same way that the Bible does, as revelations from God. In fact people who could interpret dreams and offer advice on them, were highly respected, and even kings sought out their services.

The beautiful news is, that we can use our dreams today in the same way. In our dreams each night we become what Paramahanse Yogannada called, bits of consciousness. He said we  become God,  meaning that as we release the objective aspect of self, and submit to sleep, our bodies get the rest that they need, and our cellular structure mends, but our minds and spirits soar!

With the use of P.E.T scans, we know for sure that even in sleep, during R.E.M. (rapid eye movement), that our brains are active. In fact, up to 65 % of your brain is in use while you dream!

When better to bridge the gap between the visible and invisible worlds? In dreams, we can connect with spirit, with our Creator, and with departed loved ones. There are many wonderful examples of God working with us in our dream state, even today.

Recently there was a story on the news, you probably read it or heard about it. A young woman, age 17, was missing here in the USA. She had driven to a party, and she did not return home.

I guess that she must have been going through a bit of a rebellious stage because her parents, apparently, weren t certain if she was hanging out with friends, or if there was trouble& days went by!!!

The police searched, but they were not convinced that she wanted to be found, you see? More days went by, the missing girls best friend was frantic. She went to her mother asking,  What can we do?

The mother said, "We can only pray for closure for the family." She thought that after 5 days, certainly even if the girl were to be found, that she could not be alive. What would you do?

The friend's mother had a dream, well of course she did or I wouldn't be telling you this story! I really LOVE this part& in the dream, she saw the girl. Mind you she had never met the girl!

She saw the girl in her car off the road, partially obscured by trees. She felt as though she remembered or recognized the spot on the highway, but it had been many months since she had been out that way.

She actually got up and used the bathroom and had the dream again, twice!

The fourth dream in the same night was what she felt as a silly, nothing dream. She dreamt of the rabbit from  Alice in Wonderland  saying, "Keep Going! Keep Going!" In the morning, she sort of squeamishly asked her daughter if she wanted to follow her hunch and drive out to the highway about 50 miles way.

Apparently the teenage daughter thought that her mom had gone nuts! But she agreed to go.

At first they hiked down the hill, some 200 feet and found nothing. The mother felt embarrassed. They got back in the car to go home, and then she had an intuition. She drove the opposite way of home. She pulled over, hiked down this other hill. Again, nothing. She felt even sillier.

Then she spotted something, it turned out to be just a trash bag, but from there, she saw what looked like a bit of a car. They got to the car and the girl was there and she was alive! She had suffered a concussion and had several broken bones but she was alive!! She was rescued and is doing very well. Where did that dream come from?

What do you all think? Was it the injured girl's spirit reaching out to a sympathetic spirit in the dream state? Was it a mother's empathy and desire to comfort her worried daughter that made her  open  to such a dream?

Was it the loving father/mother God who looks out for all of us? How can any of us ever ignore a dream again? Remember the silly rabbit part? Well, the woman's daughter actually said those words to her mom as her mom spotted the car!

The woman (dreamer) had not shared that dream at all; she didn't believe that it was important. But when the mom heard those words, she KNEW for sure she had to keep going.

That is just one modern day example, but did you know that Insulin was created as the result of a dream? Yes, had by Canadian physician Fredrick Banting.

Did you know that the entire periodic table of elements came to Professor Dimetri Mendeleyev in a dream in 1869?

I believe with all of my heart and with my entire researching mind that our Creator still speaks to us today in our dreams. Prayer is wonderful, so is meditation. Believe me, I was a Sunday school teacher at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal mission. I was also a lay reader.

I believe in and have witnessed the power of prayer. I know the connection capable in meditation, but so often we pray when we are quite troubled, worried, or concerned. It can be hard to listen through tears, here's the beautiful thing.

Dreams are sacred gifts, we don't have to ask for them, they just come every night. You can ask though! You can ask the Divine to give you a dream, a dream to enhance your understanding of what you are dealing with, a dream of highest and best direction in your life.

Simply add your dream request to your prayers. Or just phrase your request to your subconscious mind, the part that touches God. Repeat your request over and over as you drift asleep.

I have used this very successfully to connect with departed loved ones that I was missing so much, and I have received specific detailed directions for my life.

It is said that God knows the number of hairs upon your head. Do you think he/she does not know of your most earnest needs, desires, and troubles; of your fabulous joys? I believe that God celebrates our joys with us! I have had these dreams too.
