Numerology is a system of numbers that shed light on your past, present, and future. In Greece, some 2,600 years ago, Pythagoras, "the father of mathematics", wrote that numbers set a limit to the limitless, that numbers constitute the true nature of things and that all concepts can be expressed in numbers. Further, he elaborated on the qualities and relative relationships between each of the 9 numbers and, as such, became the father of modern numerology.

Numerology is the study of the mysterious hidden meaning that numbers can provide about a person, place, or thing. To use, you must convert the letters in a name to a number. Depending on the system used, the birthdate is also taken into account.

You can find your own key and soul numbers by using the tables that follow:

Birthdate Conversion Table
Your key number is your outer personality. This number describes your life work and your purpose for being here. To find your key number, use your birthdate and complete year and add together as follows:

Add: the month of your birth + the day of your birth + the year of your birth
Step 1:
1 + 16 (1+6) +
1954 (1+9+5+4)
Step 2: 1 +
7 + 19 (1+9) = 10
Step 3: 1 + 7 +
10 (1+0) =
9

Name Conversion Table
This is your soul number. Your soul number is your true personality, the you that is known only to you. Your soul number reveals accumulated growth in past lives, which becomes an underlying force influencing the actions of your present life. To find your soul number, use your entire name given you at birth.

1. Match each letter of your name with the number that appears above it on the chart below.

2. Add up all the numbers individually. You will have a 2 or 3 digit number.

3. Add the digits of that number to come up with another number, which might also be 2 digits as illustrated in the example below.

4. Add those two digits to come up with a single number. This is your soul number.

Example: John James Doe
1+6+8+5+1+1+4+5+1+4+6+5 = 47 (4+7) = 11 (1+1) = 2
(In this case, 11 is a master number so refer to both 11 and 2)

Numbers And Their Meanings

Zero: Represents the circle of life, the One. The two sides represent ascent and descent, evolution and involution, thought, the ultimate mystery, the incomprehensible Absolute, the unlimited, the eternal.

One: Is considered a primordial unity. The beginning, the Creator, the First Cause. One is the sum of all possibilities. It is essence, the Center. One springs forth, upsurges. One represents beginnings and renewal.

Two: Represents duality, the coming together of opposites. It is rooted, seen as balance, stability, reflection. Represents the two-fold strength symbolized by two of anything, usually in history, by animals in pairs.

Three: It's roots stem from the meaning of multiplicity, creative power, growth. Three is a moving forward of energy, expression, manifestation, and synthesis. Three is the first number to which the meaning "all" was given. It is The Triad, being the number of the whole as it contains the beginning, a middle, and an end. The power of three is universal and is the tripartite nature of the world as heaven, earth, and waters; body, mind and spirit; past, present, and future; such is the triangle.

Four: Four is seen as the first solid number. It is wholeness, totality, completion. It represents Earth and order. It is seen as representing foundation, the rational, relativity, and justice.

Five: Five is the pentagon, a symbol of change. The number five symbolizes an evolving spirituality. It represents the five senses (sight, sound, feeling, smell, taste) as well as the psychical extensions of the five senses (clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, clairaroma, clairgustus).

Six: Six represents harmony, balance, love. It is the perfect number within the decad: 1+2+3=6. Six is the symbol of luck, health, beauty, chance.

Seven: Seven is the number of the Universe. Seven represents development of the soul; three of the heavens (soul) combined with the four (body) of the earth, being the first number containing both the spiritual and the temporal. In all cultures, myths and legends we find the meaning of seven to be completeness and totality, macrocosm, perfection, plenty, reintegration, rest, security, safety, synthesis.

Eight: Spiritually eight is the goal of the initiate, having gone through the seven stages. The octagon is the beginning of the transformation of the square into a circle and vice versa. Eight in many cultures and ideologies seems to have similar meanings: felicity, perfect rhythm, regeneration, resurrection.

Nine: Nine is composed of the all-powerful 3x3. It is the Triple Triad. It represents completion, fulfillment, attainment, beginning and the end, the whole number, a celestial and angelic number. Nine is seen as an incorruptible number. It is the number of the circumference, its division into 90 degrees and into 360 for the entire circumference. Nine is symbolized by the two triangles that are a symbol of male, fire, mountain and female, water, cave principles.

The Cosmosic and Master Numbers

Ten: Ten is the end of a phase or cycle and represents new beginnings. It is the number of the cosmos - the paradigm of creation. The decad contains all numbers and therefore all things and possibilities. It is the radix or turning point of all counting. Ten is all-inclusive representing law, order, and dominion. The tetrad 1+2+3+4=10 symbolizes divinity and one represents a point; two, length; three, a plane or surface (as a triangle); four, solidity or space. Ten is seen as perfect, the return to unity. Ten is also the number of completion of journeys and returns to origins.

Eleven: In systems such as Astrology and basic Numerology, eleven is considered a Master Number representing totality, completeness, plus new beginnings. When broken down (1+1=2) eleven comprises the two of duality (see also number TWO).

Twelve: The Duocad is a complete cycle, cosmic order. The 3x4 is both the spiritual and temporal order, the esoteric and the exoteric. There are twelve signs in the standard Zodiac, twelve months in our year, twelve hours of the day and night, twelve days of Yuletide and Christmas.

Thirteen: Thirteen is a number frequently used in divination. In human history, thirteen has been considered unlucky as Judas Iscariot, disciple thirteen, was believed to have betrayed Jesus. However, Jesus?teachings included his lessons of his "death" and "rebirth," in which Judas actually played an important part. Jesus was one of thirteen, which is also the number of witches in a coven. Therefore, in most spiritual circles thirteen is considered a very auspicious number.
