How many of us are stuck in a relationship of one kind or another -- where our wish for freedom is frustrated by conditions that seem beyond our ability to control? And we do seem to get stuck in all kinds of things, don't we?
We can be stuck in a regret over our past, we can be stuck in our inability to do the excellent things that we wish we could do, we can be stuck in our own laziness, stuck in our own ambition, even feel we are stuck with the stress that some success of ours has brought with it. The list goes on indefinitely!
How about this: stuck with thoughts that just won't leave us alone, that torment us about what we failed to do, or we fear we might not be able to overcome.
So the idea of being "stuck" is an important one; it is the focus of our chat this evening. Because before we are through with our discussion -- if we will all work hard at staying awake and receptive to the ideas that will be presented -- then we will have our first glimpse of what I call the "Unstoppable Life."
We will learn that getting ourselves unstuck begins with recognizing -- and then releasing -- those negative states that first define our place (in life) -- and that then hold us "down" by convincing us that our only alternative is to ache over our unwanted condition. We can do SO much better than this.
So, before we get started, here is one last thought to set the properly positive tone for our chat. I know the following idea is true, and so will you -- if you are willing to welcome it into your life and do the inner work it takes to realize its liberating secret:
The only thing that ever stands in our way -- be it tonight, or a thousand "tomorrows" from now -- is what we have yet to understand about ourselves. And this means that nothing in the entire universe that can stop that soul who is willing to discover the truth of his or her Self.
Fear plays a big part in anyone not really moving forward in their life. And so many just live in that fear-based energy. Do you have any exercises, or meditations, or affirmations or something that we could use to help us step away from that fear attitude?
There is a golden rule with regards to walking away from any self-compromising negative state. It is this: 'The only power that darkness has (over us) is in the absence of the Light.'
It's so important to understand that the fear that compromises us and our happiness as it does, has no existence of its own apart from the images within ourselves that we are identified with as being necessary for our success and contentment.
An example...
If I believe that I am only as important or worthwhile as others consider me to be, then I live with an image of both these persons and myself as being under their power. Therefore, fear appears whenever I want to make a good impression, because I believe that without it I am nothing.
Another example...
When we believe that our success in life depends upon having certain possessions or powers, then anything that threatens these conditions that I am identified with, is seen as a threat.
Fear follows.
We can live without fear only to the degree that we realize that there are parts of us in collusion with it.
The first thing that has to happen before any of us can be free of fear and how it ruins our contentment and peace is that we must actually 'see' that fear serves nothing other than itself. It does nothing for us, nothing!
It seems to protect us, but it actually punishes us by making us a captive of what it projects as being necessary for us to control.
We must all understand a certain universal truth about life.
Without this, we can't get very far. All conditions in life -- no exceptions -- are temporary.
This means that anything within us that looks at a condition of ours -- or of our life -- and sees that as being an intractable condition, is itself a part of that very "stuck" self. If we look at nature, it's evident that everything in creation is in a constant flux. All things are forever being created, even as all things are forever passing.
This gives us a great tool to work with if we can see how the truth of it applies to our daily lives and where we feel stuck. What we are stuck in, is nothing more that an idea that we have become identified with. I'll explain...
I look at my life and I wish I could "move on" from whatever it is that I believe holds me down. Life isn't holding us down, it can't! It won't. Life is a beautiful progression of potential perfection for all of its creatures, especially us.
So what we can gather from this is that there is a part of our own mind that, when it thinks about us, and where we are in life, it always shows us who we have been. We are not who we have been. We are anew potential, a new possibility.
To understand this is to first see the self that sets itself up as being our governor -- telling us we can't move on -- and then from our new understanding, simply dropping this false sense of self and stepping into the new fulfillment that awaits us based on our new and higher actions.
