There Is Nothing But God:
Your Spirituality, Religion and Being Psychic

Before we begin... meditation.

Let's all take a moment just to focus our energies and settle our thoughts...
place your feet flat on the floor...
put your hands in your lap...palms up
and just take a nice, easy breath in thru your nose...
exhaling gently thru your mouth...

Once more...inhale quietly...
and exhale slowly...
bringing your focus to the base of your spine...
mentally move your focus up your spine...
and as you do, gently lift up your spine one vertebrae at a time...
until your back is comfortably straight...
giving you a nice flow of energy from your head to your feet...

And inhale again...
this time a bit deeper...
exhaling slowly...
and now...
bring your focus to your heart...your 4th chakra....
and as you focus there, see a beautiful glow of green light begin to grow...
Inhale...even deeper...
exhaling very slowly...
and now, allow your green light to shine out from you...
and see it as your individual light combines with everyone else's here tonight...

Feel the energy as we all connect...
connecting in calmness...
connecting in one thought...
connecting with peace and gladness...
and again, inhale...even deeper this time...
and exhale slowly...
and as we are together in this oneness, relax and enjoy.

'La illaha illa 'llah hu,' declared a Sufi master. 'There is nothing but God.' Everything is an illusion; only God is real. Zen masters have been alluding to this for centuries.

A European mystic formulated that 'God is a circle whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere.' And a verse from one of the revered Hindu scriptures begins, 'The Lord is enshrined in the hearts of all. The Lord is the supreme reality.'

Every avatar throughout the ages of human evolution has taught us that there is only God; that, although we daily perceive the diverse multiplicity in life, all that exists is essentially one.

If that is true, that there is only one God who is everywhere, gives everything and is everything, then that can only mean that God is Oneness Itself manifesting as the many. Somehow, however, we have interpreted that to mean that there is only one God and since that one God happens to be 'mine', yours cannot be the right one!

Now, I must inform you that, being a man of the right 'one and only God', it is my sacred duty to save you from your deluded self that believes in the wrong one - but, don't you worry, you'll thank me for it later. (Just teasing)

Ha - Hah!! LOL!

'He lives in wisdom who sees himself in all and all in him, whose love for the Lord of Love has consumed every selfish desire and sense craving tormenting the heart.' - Krishna

And, of course, Jesus announced that the first and greatest commandment was this: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' To which he added that the second greatest was to 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

We have now entered into an era of integration, one that challenges each of us to experience and live the oneness of being. Yet we are daily still smacked about by the wake of a divisive reign.

As we teeter out of the paradigm that the strong shall rule the world through dividing and conquering, we must live the new awareness that hatred can only be healed through love and that the meek shall lead the way.

Neither religion nor science creates wars and pestilence. It is only the work of ignorance acted on in the name of science, religion, government or - even love - that results in so much suffering in the world.

In truth, there is only God and as such, absent the intrusion of ignorance, everything serves a divine ecological purpose.

For example, religion with reminders of faith and grace tempers science toward a more healing, human and holistic technology. It can humble the scientific ego that there is always a variable, a force just beyond the reaches of their greatest intellects and technological advances.

Meanwhile science serves as a crucible in which the dross of blind dogma and superstition is smelted away from the minds of the religious. Religion is meant to help us develop our hearts to love and bind fast to the oneness that is God. And science's aim must be to teach our minds to love and seek the truth of that Oneness.

Many people struggle in finding harmony between their spirituality and religion. Often I have heard, especially in more metaphysical circles, 'I'm not religious; I'm a spiritual person.'

The fact is, however, we are each religious and spiritual, regardless of any professed denomination. Our religion is the relationship we have with Spirit or God. The word 'religion', in fact, comes from a root that means, 'to bind fast' - the same root as for the Sanskrit word, 'yoga', which means 'union'. Each of us is different in our religion since we each relate uniquely with God.

Our spirituality, on the other hand, pertains to our state of being spiritual, or 'of spirit.'

Of course, everyone is of spirit: Being, consciousness and energy. We are all spiritual by nature. Even an atheist is a conscious energy being that chooses to not consider God. The quality of our spirituality may differ greatly, but that we are spiritual is a constant.

Religion is a touchy subject with so many people because it is the central nerve that connects us with the reality of our very existence. For those whose reality is predicated not upon one's own experience of truth, but upon the dogma of standardized ethics and morals, that nerve is exposed and even an accidental bump on it can set them screaming.

You would be challenging the very foundation upon which they have created their existence.

If you recognize your basic psychic nature - that you are of the soul and that you have within you the awareness, abilities and energy of the soul - then, you would pose a grave threat to those who base their lives on others' beliefs.

You might ask, 'Why would this be - when I have no intent to harm anyone?' It is that as you use more of your soul energy, you begin to sense, feel, hear, see and/or know more than what you were taught by your parents, teachers, ministers, doctors, books and other authorities.

You start to experience 'beyond the box' of communal agreements that define what is 'real'.

Even if you don't discuss much of it with others, the decisions you make every day, your attitudes, energy and your lifestyle reflect your 'different' experience and reality. You shake the very foundation of what they have long believed to be right, beautiful and good.

For example, the only times in school I ever upset my teachers were times I knew the correct answers to subjects I hadn't yet studied.

Most people are not aware that the evolutionary journey of the human soul is a round-trip adventure. From this unconsciousness arises the interesting challenge for those who are on the return leg of this progressive trip of not being validated by those who are on their way out.

Imagine, if you will, that our spiritual growth process is like living in San Francisco and taking a trip to Miami for a vacation. Having worked hard for many years, you got to go on your vacation.

After enjoying all the activities and relaxation in Miami, you are ready to return home to San Francisco. On your way home, you have a layover in Dallas and there you meet a person on his way out for the first time to Miami.

He's obviously excited and highly motivated to be on his way to his vacation destination. When he notices that your ticket is for a flight to San Francisco, he tells you, with good intentions, that you have the wrong ticket and itinerary. He tries to educate you that Dallas is not the vacation spot; that you're only part way to where you're supposed to go.

He doesn't want you to miss out on all the fun because you thought Dallas was the end of the line. 'Don't give up now!' He pleads. You try to gracefully inform him that you know what you are doing.

You thank him for his concern and you tell him that you must board your plane home. Yet, he doesn't understand why you don't want to go enjoy your vacation. Did this happen with your parents or siblings? Or perhaps it was more with schoolteachers, ministers or doctors.

'It's my responsibility to correct you,' they might say, 'after all you are my daughter, sister, student, etc.' 'Why can't you see that what you are doing is wrong?' They might continue, 'You are going the wrong way!'

Or, a devout one might say, 'As a Christian I am supposed to be a shepherd to my children (students, patients, etc.) and bring the wayward sheep back into the fold. Why are you resisting me so much - I only want the best for you - what's right for you.'

'Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.' - Jesus

On the return trip you are coming back refreshed with a new view of life, a new awareness and energy with which you're getting ready to go back to work - to fulfill your soul purpose.

Those who are looking 'out there' and to 'others' for how to survive, for comfort, for power, success, happiness and fulfillment are on the outgoing leg of this evolutionary trip. When you begin to look 'inward' for your answers and truth, you begin your 'return' trip.

Those on their way out have difficulties understanding why you're not interested in the 'important' things in life: money, success, conquering the world, being famous and so on.

Meanwhile, you're more concerned about finding your way home. So, you'll be looking for maps, compasses and for people who've already gone home and have set up information stands along the roadside.

For those 'going out' you've really become a party-pooper! 'No fun at all,' they say. Or, they might even declare, 'You've gone mad!' A human soul begins its trek 'out' essentially being a true atheist - one who has no awareness of or belief in God or some Infinite Beingness.

In the beginning, that soul works on self-preservation on the most basic survival levels. Then, after a time of learning how to get by, the soul evolves toward a social context and forms some kind of consideration of a greater power.

This usually begins with what we call superstition.

From here the soul evolves into having various beliefs in God and seeks to have the validation of established religious groups. The emphasis here is on the belief, not on God as a true experience.

Dogma presides during this phase of growth and organizes one's relationship with God into a whole host of social mores and rules to regulate human conduct. Then, toward the end of this phase comes one of the more disturbing periods of our spiritual growth: disillusionment and loss of faith and even hope.

All that we ever invested in the beliefs of reality, life and God come into question. This constitutes the turn-around period of going 'out' and trying to 'get there' to a realization that there isn't really anywhere that we can 'get to'.

Much to our consternation, we begin to see that we've been chasing mirages. Nothing is real. 'Now what?' We ask. There is nowhere else to go but inward - to the intangible, the spiritual. We start casting away the dogma of religion, the rules of society, of academics and intellectualism, of politics and government - they haven't worked for us.

Now, we must embark upon the return leg of our trip. It's a tough start. Often there is a lot of resistance - we want to stay at the beach and play some more. We find, however, that the 'play' is empty and the 'parties' serve only as distractions to cover our desperate loneliness. We can't stay in 'Miami' anymore.

Some of you who are logged on tonight are just turning the corner from the 2nd 'orthodox religion/dogma' phase of growth into the 3rd 'looking within' phase. Others of you have been in the midst of exploring deeper into your own being for truth.

In the early part of turning within, there may be a tendency to dismiss or resist 'religion' - or even the word 'God'.

This doesn't make you a true atheist or an agnostic. It just means that you've had enough of the 'lies' and dogma of traditional religions and you don't want to have much to do with them for now.

As you have more and more of your true experience of Divinity 'under your belt', you will come to a place of being able to have each 'religion' for the purpose it serves, even if you're not wholly in agreement with its tenets.

The fourth and final phase of human evolution begins with the realization of one's own true being. This is a supremely creative phase in which the soul begins to establish a new consciousness, a new 'game' on the earth that is unique to that soul - one that would profoundly serve humanity in its evolutionary process.

Some souls begin to envision this in the 3rd phase of their spiritual development but will have difficulties fully actualizing it. Those in the 3rd phase often encounter the greatest challenges in personally relating with others when it comes to living their truth and managing those who oppose it.

On the one hand, they may feel rejected if they were to come across one who is fully on his own unique path and who doesn't happen to choose to work with them. On the other hand, the third phase souls may experience tremendous resistance from those in the 1st and 2nd phases who are convinced that their reality is all there is and will destroy to protect their positions, if threatened.

It becomes paramount in the 3rd phase of looking within yourself that you practice 'taking the log out of your own eye before you take the sliver out of another's eye.'

Use the opportunities when others meet you with resistance to look within your own space of consciousness to unveil the heretofore 'hidden' resistance, judgments, fear and pain you have been carrying.

They may defend their unconscious fear and pain in very different ways than you would, but their energy would 'light up' any of the same stashed away within you. Don't worry about where the other person is. Make use of the experience to heal you into wholeness and truth.

Trying to force calculus on a 4th grader generally doesn't help anyone. If something seems obvious to you, it is because you are accomplished in it, not because it's obvious to everyone.

It's like a world-class figure-skater making ice skating look easy. If you want to educate someone, start with the next step to where he is, not where you are. In terms of overall human evolution, we are now in the era of integration.

What this means for each individual, is that the soul-self must integrate its awareness, abilities and energy more fully into the body-mind personality. For the great majority of people, the soul is not integrated with the body.

Here's a quick way to tell if there's much more to you than you have integrated into your body-personality:

You know you know more than you are conscious of.

You know you should be able to do something, but when you actually try to do it, you can't quite do it.

You behave differently than you wanted to.

You know what you want to say, but you can't seem to say it.

How you would like to treat others and how you actually treat them aren't quite the same.

The difference between what you know you can be, do or have and what you actually end up being, doing or having in your daily life is the gap between your soul and your body-mind personality.

The greater this gap, the greater the stress, frustration and confusion there is for the soul-body relationship. The greatest tension occurs when the soul is moving into the next phase of growth and the body-personality is still in the former phase.

Regardless of which phase you are in during your evolutionary cycle, it is important to work toward integrating your soul-self with your body personality consciousness.

In fact, the only time you will have a real problem relating with another person is when that person happens to be dramatizing the same kind of gap of unawareness and non-communication that exists between you (the soul) and your body personality.

I'm sure many of you have experienced someone being afraid or angry or in pain, but he happened to be completely oblivious to it and said he was feeling great. In that example, in spirit, he had no pain   although that was definitely not the case in the body.

If you want to integrate yourself more with your body-mind, practice asking yourself what you are not being aware of instead of whether what you know is right or wrong.

Remember, 'There is nothing but God.'

Religion is your relationship with God/Everything.

Spirituality pertains to your state of being of spirit.

And being psychic means that you are starting to experience and function as a spiritual being having a relationship with All That Is.

Use your intuition to know and your intelligence to sort out and use what you know.

Every part of you and everything in life has a purpose for being. Realizing that is the process of self-healing and integration.

While you are traveling on your 'return leg' of this great adventure, be joyous - and when you find yourself in doubt, be kind and truthful and clarity will arise from within you, always.
