Get Rid of All Dead Blooms:

Flowering plants with dead blooms are very bad feng shui for your health, especially if you have elderly or ill people in your home.

To keep good chi circulating, be sure that there are no rotten flowers in your garden and uproot any plants that are not healthy.

6 Angels or Cherubs

As the Winter Solstice and another season approaches, and time really does seem to speed up, today might be a great day to surround yourself with special friends and assistance from some of the invisible realms.

Angels and cherubs are considered lucky symbols in every culture and tradition, as their mere presence fills the room with the potential and possibility of peace and prosperity and good will to men.

Six angels or cherubs placed in the 'Helpful People' area of the main floor in your space will bring those very same energies winging their way towards you and providing you with benefits you can scarcely imagine.

Add/Leave Personal Energies In The Decore

If you do decide to go caroling today, be sure to take along a little something special for those whose friendship and love you cherish and whose homes you are planning to stop at.

Not only should you each add something to their holiday decor that will leave them with a personal and powerful energetic reminder that is much more than a seasonal song in their heart, you should also encourage them to come and visit you with something that speaks to their individual energies as well.

Some customs and traditions tell us to make sure that anyone and everyone who spends time in our space should also add something personal to the decor in our own home in order to make the energies more solidly and sacredly linked.

In my house, we leave some trinkets and small ornaments at the door so anyone entering can just grab and hang on the tree, adding their invaluable energies to ours!

           WINTER SOLSTICE ELIXIR

Today marks the annual Winter Solstice, a time when the Sun is the furthest from the celestial equator, and appears to hang lowest in the sky exactly at noontime.

At that same time today, take a tablespoon of honey and hold it up to that noontime Sun for a few seconds allowing the light and bright rays to imbue this soothing stuff with an almost magical quality.

Then just drink this elixir right down. This is a centuries old custom that speaks to bringing sweet and wonderful elements and energies to everyday of your life during the length of this specific solstice. So sweet!

                          Yule Candle

If you don't have a fireplace or for any other reason cannot burn the traditional Yule log then why not make your own Yule candle?

Get the biggest and fattest red candle that you can find and then with any really sharp instrument carve some symbol of the Sun on any side of it.

Place your Yule candle on a large holder or in any heat-proof tray and ring with seasonal and magical plants.

Holly, pine, mistletoe, rosemary and bay, along with other pieces of evergreen, will bring cleansing and clearing energies into your space while also refreshing and reinvigorating your home in preparation for the next cycle of light.

Speaking of light, placing candles anywhere in the home on this day is said to ensure a year of plenty and prosperity, warmth and, what else ... LIGHT!

   PHOTO OF HOLIDAY GUEST

If you have friends or relatives staying with you over the holidays, you should try to find a photograph of all of you together -- one in which you were sharing a happy occasion -- and then place that inside a wooden frame.

Place the picture on a bedside table of the room that they will be sleeping in (or anywhere close to where they will rest their heads if air mattresses are the bedding du jour!)

and place something sweet, like a small bowl of chocolate candy kisses, close by. This loving effort will not only make your visitors feel comfy, cozy, welcome and wanted but will also make them feel a part of your family as well.

This might also be just the day to think of those you know and love who might, for whatever reason, be spending the holidays alone.

Reach out to them as well by gifting them with a similar style photo. And, if you don't have one of you all together, well, no time like the PRESENT!

Boxing Day
12/26

Boxing Day, so named in jolly old England for when those in position to gave the less fortunate presents and gifts, expecting nothing in return.

Many also refer to this day as the Feast of Saint Stephen, sainted when he was stoned to death for his spiritual beliefs.

In some parts of Ireland on this day, boys would go from door to door collecting money for their 'dead wren' -- a symbol of the stoned Saint Stephen.

In Poland, people throw oats at priests today and walnuts at each other representing wishing one another a fertile and productive life.

Even Good King Wenceslas wanted a good glass of wine on the Feast of Stephen, after he himself had been out and about giving gifts of food and wine and money to the less fortunate in his kingdom.

On this day, why not think about looking over your own booty and bounty and boxing some of it up to give away?

You will move energies on every altruistic level as well as will open up opportunities for new and exciting ones to come your own way.

Once you've delivered some treasures to those who deserve nothing less, then go home and do as lucky old Wenceslas did and pour yourself a nice glass of chianti, sans the fava beans, of course!

      Lemon Hot Toddy For Balance

During these days of decking the halls and kissing Santa underneath the mistletoe, and while making sure that we got everyone on our lists absolutely everything they wanted, it might just make a lot of sense that some of our bodies go a little out of whack.

See, the human body is really, really smart and knows exactly what it needs to remain in balance and aligned while functioning at maximum capacity.

At some point that balance will entail assessing how alkaline and how acid the body is or, as I like to say, how naughty or how nice you have been to it.

See, when the body is properly alkaline or your pH is properly aligned your energy will be higher, your mood will lift and your overall health and appearance will both immeasurably improve.

One quick way to turn a sour situation into an alkalizing one, is to make a healthy hot toddy with some warm lemonade.

Lemons, even though perceived to be acidic, actually alkalize your body.

Juice a half of a fresh lemon into a cup of warm water and drink it down while still a little steaming.

You'll feel tons better before you can even say, 'on Dancer, on Prancer, on Donner and Blitzen!'

KWANZAA

The African American tradition of celebrating Kwanzaa began yesterday, and runs straight through to the first day of this next New Year.

Kwanzaa does not purport to override any spirit or other traditions of the holiday season, but seeks to supplement them.

It is a period of reflection and recall, spent remembering African American folklore, customs, ancestors and culture.

The colors associated with Kwanzaa are red (representing struggles endured) and black (symbolizing the people in the culture) and green (speaking to the growth of a glorious future!).

In Feng Shui, the combination of black and green is considered a highly auspicious and propitious pairing bringing water (black) to feed the growth of nature (green) in order to continue cycles of prosperity and abundance.

Decorating during these days with red and green is only natural, but bringing a bit of black to the mix will honor the traditions of others and bring recognition and reward to you as well.

         Benzoin For Comfort

Often at this time of year, not everyone is hustling and bustling and enjoying all the hoopla surrounding all the holidays. In fact, there are many who are lonely or feel a sense of sadness around these days.

There is a particular essential oil, Benzoin, which can be easily diffused into the atmosphere in order to try to diffuse any feelings of melancholy or quiet anxiety.

This oil can actually start to shift an inner feeling from one of possible disassociation and disconnection from those around us, to one of internal peace with the benefit of feeling as if you belong no matter where you are.

Put 10 drops of Benzoin into a bath and soak in the strength and the steadiness that it offers while washing some of that sadness down the drain. If at all possible, you can also diffuse the oil into the atmosphere by simply slipping 10 drops into a bowl of steaming water and then letting that integrate itself into your space.

It's totally fine to feel alone in a crowd, but not if that circumstance makes you feel lonely, sad or even afraid. Giving comfort and the ability to cope is the gift of this true essential oil, and this knowledge is my gift to you.

New Years - Ring Out The Old and Ring In The New

Ring out the old and ring in the new ... LITERALLY!

That's right, as you ready and prepare for the next wonderfully miraculous New Year, today is the best time to clear and cleanse your space on a host of different levels.

To begin, take any brass bell and starting from the front door travel in a clockwise direction around the main floor of your space. Stop in the main corners of your home and ring the bell as loud as you can, nine separate times.

When you return to the front door, start anew inside each individual room ringing that bell nine times in each corner of every room.

If you have more than one floor, once you are done with the downstairs you may start the same ritual on the up, using the top of the stairs as your starting point.

Once you have rung out the old, let's proactively make way for the new, shall we?

At midnight tonight, as the ball is dropping and the pages of the calendar are flipping, throw nine pieces of orange peel (for health and happiness in all the coming days and months) and nine coins of any denomination (for abundance during that same time-frame) in through your front door into the environ immediately inside.

Leave these peels and this money in that same space for at least 24 hours to give all energies a chance to activate.

I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR filled with HEALTH and WEALTH and HAPPINESS!

                     Hawaiian Visualization

Happy Birthday Tiger Woods! Tiger has always been a perfect example of someone who can visualize and play the 'inner' game.

If you want to get a leg up on the competition, why not try an old Hawaiian visualization that just might see you scoring a personal hole-in-one?

Think of any circumstance and situation that is plaguing you and put that same dilemma into a 'bubble' over your head.

Now, as you 'see' this circumstance playing out inside that same bubble, make the outcome something you would most like to see happen. Really 'see' it all play out, even in the minutest details, until you are happy and successful with the conclusion. Hold the thought.

Now, breathe deeply in through the nose and fill the belly with your breath. Hold that breath while you hold your vision and then blow the breath from your mouth into the bubble above your head. Do this specific breathing in just that sequence four separate times leaving about 15 seconds between each breath.

I promise, the results from these efforts will just simply blow you away. But you knew that was coming didn't you?

                        Battle Of The Bulge

Are you one of millions of New Year's Resolutionary soldiers who vows that this will be the year that you win the battle of the bulge?

Well while you are on the front lines, remember to wear white and eat off black plates.

At least, that's the advice according to Feng Shui! The tonal tableware is believed to combine colors with the food that goes on it and satisfy a subconscious craving while killing your own appetite.

Wearing white will help quell hunger too. As will chewing a few fennel seeds, or even eating a handful of almonds before sitting down to a meal.

It's black, white and clear as the nose on your thinning face that putting these practices to the test will have you winning the weight war in no time at all.

Feng Shui Tips For Warding Off The Recession

Feng Shui Tips For Warding Off The Recession Love Feng Shui, feng shui for love, romance and marriage! How to use Feng Shui in marriage. Are you worried about how the recession of 2009 is going to affect you? Are you frightened that you may suffer financial losses? There are some Feng Shui tips that you can take to help ward off money problems and help you and your family transcend the dire economic statistics that financial experts have been forecasting for the year 2009.
Your very first order of the day is to clean and scrub down your entire house and make sure that is free of clutter and chaos. There is no other hard and fast rule when it comes to making your home open and welcome to prosperity. When everything is in order and everything is in its place, you are showing the universe that you are willing to receive blessings of all kinds (including financial ones).

It also helps to get rid of anything that might be dried, dead, or dusty. This is especially true of any flowers that you might have around. Be sure to dust the tops of doors and hidden places where bad chi (energy) can gather and trip you up financially.

A protective poster or statue that you can put up is that of eight goldfishes plus one black fish. Eight carp or goldfishes symbolize wealth. The ninth black fish is added to absorb any bad luck that may come your way. This poster or statue is very popular in Asian cultures and easy to obtain online or at your local Chinatown.

Another effective Feng Shui tip to protect a business is to actually acquire an aquarium and fill it with eight orange carp and one black carp. You see this all the time in the reception areas of Chinese restaurants. The idea is that the orange carp glitter like coins and that one black fish absorbs any negative energy from people that might set foot in the place. Another Feng Shui belief to do with the aquarium is that if misfortune were to hit you it would hit the fish and not you. So in a sense, the fish, whether symbolic or real, act as a protective barrier against the cruelties of the recession.

Another tried and true protective measure against bad financial energy is to place four copper coins in each of the furthermost corners of your home. Copper has protective energy and helps hold your resources inside where they belong.

The ultimate in protective Feng Shui statues is Fu Dogs. These are guardians that are placed at either side of your door. The Fu Dogs are beasts that appear to be half dog and half dragons.

You can buy large stone versions of these dogs or you can buy very small ones and place them on either side of your door. The absolute correct placement of these protective dog statues has always been just outside the front door. Those who can’t afford the large statues have often buried the smaller statues on either side of their front step. The protective energies from the Fu Dogs are similar in this respect.

                                  Move 27 things

There is a special adjustment in Feng Shui that promises to put the past behind you while changing or shifting all future fortunes and pointing them straight to the fabulous!

The first part of this 'cure' says to open all windows and doors for at least a few minutes today so that stale or stagnant or even any unsupportive energies can escape your entire environment.

Now, with a fresh, cleansing breeze blowing through your life, move 27 things in your house. This instruct can be as simple as moving your salt and pepper shakers an inch to the right or as dramatic as moving your couch clear across the living room. A balance of both is the ideal here.

By moving these 27 things not only do you shake up the status quo, but you banish any ill winds that might have been mussing your hair or keeping a lid on your good luck. New Year, new you, new luck. Period
