Understanding Laying-On Hands Healing

I want to talk to all of you  about two different aspects of healing. One has to do with realizing you have the gift of healing yourself and two, ways that you can receive healing.

The gift of healing is very simple. We lay our hands on people and ask God to channel healing through us to them. I always use white handkerchiefs under my hands when channeling healing. The healing energy often feels warm, tingly, and I can feel an energy moving through my hands.

I would imagine there are hundreds of you out there that have the gift of healing, but maybe feel intimidated by it, or simply don't understand what you have. There are also many who are raised to believe that this gift doesn't come from God and that it's wrong to put ourselves in the same category as Jesus was.

But I can reassure any of you that fear you might be doing something wrong by channeling healing energy, that you are doing exactly what Jesus was hoping we would do.

He tells us in John12:14 that,'these gifts I give unto you and greater works shall you do.'

The gift of healing is also referred to in The gifts of the Spirit in Corinthians. This is a God given gift, given to anyone who feels a calling to channel healing. There are many ways to channel healing these days. Many of you have probably heard of Reiki. The healing that I am referring to tonight, is laying on hands healing.

Healing energy works. It's amazing and it does amazing things. I wrote a book in 1983 called 'Hands That Heal' which we recently revised and updated.

I've seen such a change over the years in people's acceptance of this gift and it's become increasingly important to me to get the message out to people that we can all channel healing to people, if we have the desire in our hearts.

Probably the most important thing to remember when approaching someone that you feel might need a healing, is to simply tell them you can channel healing, and that if they would like to receive one, to let you know. Don't stand around and wait for their answer.

Don't ever pressure someone into receiving a healing. That 's not the way it works.

People have become turned off by spiritual healers because, we have a tendency to get pushy with people, and think that anyone that is sick, wants or needs a healing. We need to stay mindful of people's boundaries always, and simply tell them that you can channel healing, but that you want them to give it some thought and get back to you. It brings up lots of issues for people.

Some people are angry with God, and they don't want anything to do with him/her. Many people don't feel worthy of receiving healing. Many feel that if they're sick, it's some kind of punishment from God, so again, they don't want to go there.

It's best if you have someone you can practice on. You can also practice on yourself. Get out a couple of white hankies and lay them on your body. Lay your hands on top of the hankies, and ask God, or the Universe, to send healing energy through you into you.

It's a very calming energy. Chances are you might fall asleep!

When working on others, you need to be very mindful of boundaries. Never touch anyone in an inappropriate place. You do not need to touch the problem area in order for it to heal. I'm thinking of breast cancer, or prostate problems, hemorrhoids, or herpes�? things like that.

You never need to touch private parts on people in order for them to receive healing.

There is a standard position I lay my hands. One up by the throat area the other, on their solar plexus (the area around the belly button). I usually keep my hands there for 20 minutes.

I always pray that God guide me throughout the healing. If I should move my hands�?where to�?when or how long should I keep them there, etc. If you are good at listening to your intuition, you will be guided continually throughout the healing.

Now lets talk about the whole idea of healing. Healing means different things to different people. One man I worked on had Aids. He said he didn't want me to heal the Aids. He just wanted the pain healed, and his low energy, so that he could pack up his things and move back to his mothers. He said he wanted to die in her home.

I had a lady come for healing for her eyes. She didn't want to wear her glasses anymore. I laid my hands on her eyes the entire healing. Afterwards, she told me she was going to the University hospital on Monday to get several cysts removed from her ovaries.

She asked if I thought the healing might have done anything for the cysts, and I said 'you never know, you might want to get another ultra sound.' She did, and there were no cysts at all, but the funny part was that, she said her eyes hadn't changed, so she felt like she really didn't get a healing. Like I said, it's different for everyone.

There are times when people aren't supposed to get healed, and there are other times when people get instantly healed. The healing energy is amazing, always. You never know what it's going to do, and one thing you'll realize as a healer is that you are definitely not in charge!

Let me explain absentee healing, Absentee healing is when the healer cannot get to the person requesting the healing. The healer visualizes the person and visualized their hands on them, then they ask God to please send healing energy to them, and the person, no matter where they are in the world, receives it.

The main thing is that the person needs to be open to receive it.

Remember earlier, when I said that a person needs to ask for the healing? If they ask, that means they are open to receiving it, and that is very important. People can block healing energy if they don't want to receive it, so always try to get their permission.

You can also channel absentee healing to people. Simply visualize a man or a woman, and what is wrong with them, and then ask God, or the Universe to send healing to them. It's really cool and very effective.
