Going Up? I remember learning that that the hierarchy is very complex, just as a business hierarchy is. There are many facets to every person just as there are facets to demons and angels. Their appearances and positions may be deceiving. Archangel Michael partakes in the spiritual war, drawing upon warrior energies. He does not go forth with love and defeat the enemies of light? Does he go forth for love of all? The student of magic learns that for everything above the human being in the heirarchy there is a corresponding energy below the being. The heirarchy can be climbed or it can be descended. At the top there is God, at the bottom the devil. For every angel there is a demon. It up to us to gain the best from every meeting. Why descend the ladder? In being born we already have descended. The tale in witchcraft is that the one was divided becoming light and the other part falling into matter. After the devision there became a strong desire to be together again. We are part of the matter. We have fallen into matter for a purpose and it is up to us to gain knowledge on the journeys down as well as the upward return. The point of this is that there is just not above and below with value, there is a nature that seems deceiving dual of the angels and the demons. Demons too have value. One can also receive the worst parts of an angel. I reread "The Black Arts" which speaks of the demons and their knowledge. " The mixture of the trivial and the important is typical of magic and so is the mixture of good and evil. The demon named Glasyalabolas teaches all arts of sciences, which seems admirable, but he also incites murder and bloodshed. Raum reconciles enemies, but is equally ready to destroy cities. Flauros will destroy and burn the magician's foes, if desired, and if not desired, will gladly discourse on matters of divinity. Seere is 'indifferently good or bad and will do the will of the operator.' " Perhaps this is a way to tell the student of magic that for every curse there is a blessing. For every talent there is a way it can be misused for evil. For everything we do receive, and everything we do without, there is a key that will turn to the left or to the right. It is up to us to see the beauty in it or the endless darkness. But in receiving the best of the trip down and the return home, a perfect balance will be found in all. |
