Hands of the Labrynth by Evonne. My Walk Recently, while on vacation, I had the opportunity to walk a Spiritual Labrinth! It is a walking meditation, to me, about life. Appearances in the labrinth can be very deceiving. It is designed to fool your eye, so when you think you are almost done, you are not. Passing so close to the center goal, the heart is glad and then the path leads you away without quite reaching the prise. And there you are, almost back at the beginning again. Just when you think you are at the furthest point in the labrinth, you are almost home! from a New Translation of the Tao Te Ching by Ursula K. Le Guin 41. Non/Identity Thoughtful people hear about the Way and try hard to follow it. Ordinary people hear about the Way and wander onto it and off it. Thoughtless people hear about the Way and make jokes about it. It wouldn't be the Way if there weren't jokes about it. So they say: The Way's brightness looks like darkness; advancing on the Way feels like retreating; the plain Way seems hard going. The height of power seems a valley; the amplest power seems not enough; the firmest power seems feeble. Perfect whiteness looks dirty. The pure and simple looks chaotic. The great square has no corners. The great vessel is never finished. The great tone is barely heard. The great thought can't be thought. The Way is hidden in its namelessness. But only the Way begins, sustains, fulfills. The 11 circuit labrynth. from: THE SACRED LABYRINTH an ancient meditation tool "Each person's walk is a personal experience. How one walks and what one receives differs with each walk. Some people use the walk for clearing the mind and centering. Others enter with a question or concern. The time in the center can be used for receiving, reflecting, meditating, or praying, as well as discovering our own sacred inner space. What each person receives can be integrated on the walk out. Your walk can be a healing and sometimes very profound experience or it can be just a pleasant walk. Each time is different." |
