The Only Program You Need To Make Wavs

This is a fantastic FREE program! You can make wavs from your Cd's or convert Mp3's to a wav format. With just a few clicks you can convert from mp3 straight to mpeg layer 3 wavs. (These are perfect for mschat 2.5 users to use in the chat room). You can normalize the volume, in case you are making your own cd's from your wavs. You can also set it to delete the mp3 after converting to a wav. (Great for those concerned about using up too much hard drive space.) This program eliminates the need of converting mp3s to wavs with winamp and then having to use the sound recorder to compress. After you have downloaded the program, go to the folder where you downloaded it and double click on the icon that says dMC-r7 to install. I installed mine in Program Files. Click on the word Converter below for a direct download.

Converting Mp3's To A Wav

Once installed go to where you installed the program and open up the dBpowerAMP Music Converter. (I installed mine in Program Files, so I go to Start > Programs > dBpower AMP Music Converter). Click on that and located where you have your music files stored. (You can do a whole folder of mp3s by just highlighting them all).

 

Double click on the mp3 you want to convert and choose WAVE from the little box that pops up.

   

After you choose Wave another box will come up and you can choose your settings.  If you use 2.5 to chat and want the wav to play in the chat room, change the destination folder to C:\Windows\Media. You can also choose normalize volume to keep all the wavs at the same volume, and choose Normalize Volume to make all wavs at the same volume level. Checking The Delete Source File(s) after conversion will delete the mp3 after the wav is made.

   

Click the Change Format button. If you are making a wav to use in the chat room, this is a good setting to choose.

 

If you are making wavs for a cd this is the setting you should choose.

 

When you have selected all your settings Choose Convert. The program will convert the mp3 to a wav and you will get this when it is done. Just click on finished!

This program will also allow you to change your Mp3's to a wav for burning if you have a burner. I will post the instructions for that if there is enough interest.
