90 years ago today, on 3 November 1918, Austria-Hungary surrendered to the Allies. This left only Germany still in the war.

Let me ask my question a little differently then. I wanted to know if you thought the Austrian Air Force was as effective as it was because of their use of their own designed and built machines, or might it be because they used a great many German machines in their air force? I looked at a very interesting site called ,"The Aerodrome" and they showed several Austro-Hungarian machines that they said were quite good once initial design problems had been worked out.

I am surprised that such a solid cerebral question by our site manager could be mistaken for one from me.  Flash is slipping into the doofuss abyss, AGAIN.

I would say the honest answer would have been trouser the money and go buy German, as throughout WW2 their aircraft were superior (except Bristol Fighter) and they even ended the war with the world beating Siemens Suckert

which was eagerly snatched by the Poles. looks tidy doesn't it?  Trouble is all Nations are vain about
producing their own aircraft. I mean, you yanks could have had this

Which the Italians would have given you but NO, had to make your own rubbish didn't you.

Flash, I am an admitted fraud with two phoney-baloney jobs in one lifetime.  But to put me on the high plateau of T.C.'s skills is a high honor of which I will cherish forever.

I agree, Mark.  I have a feeling message boarding won't be so popular once MSN shuts down the groups.

Rubbish Tommy But you combine your total lack of constructive contribution on this site with a horror of being called to account.

Tough life being a perpetual liar and trouble maker isn't it.

Of course your stock in trade is
  1. saying what you want and never apologising
  2. loving to stir trouble

So when you get hit back realise that's the treatment a compulsive liar and coward deserves
