[1904-1973] Chilean poet and diplomat, his work includes some of the most sensual lyrics ever written, as well as the epic poem. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature 1971. Although he spent some time in exile during the years following WWII, he later returned and served as consul and ambassador to many countries.
