Her stance was solid, her eyes unwavering, she knew what she had wanted, but as always he had pushed her away. She knew him better than he thought she did, she saw him flinch when she told him what he had promised her; as if she'd ever forget something like that. She had told him that she loved him and yet he didn't believe her then and he still didn't believe her now.

"You don't think I don't know what I want? I told you I love you for a reason, not beacuse I was lying; I know my emotions, don't act like I don't have any, you've seen them."

"You put on a really good show. You act so different backstage, isn't that what you do? Don't you just lead men on then leave htme when they serve no purpose?"

"You used to serve my purpose. You could have been my purpose, maybe you could have saved me from myself."

"You have your own life. You have a daughter, you have a life that doesn't include me."

"It could have included you if you would have only said what you wanted. You can act all macho, but I know the real you, why didn't you just say it?"

"I can't say it. I still can't say it."

" You can, you just don't want to. I pour out my heart and you stomp on it!"

She turned away from him, her bravery failing her until she found it again; she turned to face him, tears filling her eyes but not falling.

"You'll never change...Nic no matter how hard I try to change you."

[Nic E Dangerously]- "Maybe that's just it, Serena. Maybem you're trying to put me into perspective with some other guy in your past, like a tracing of a template. I am who I am."

[Serenity]- "Things could be so different..."

[Nic E Dangerously]- "But things are how they are."

[Serenity]- "You're talking like we're in some bad Matrix remake, Nic. I don't understand just what goes through your head, what blocks you from connecting a to b for this to happen, for us to have what we want, what- what we deserve."

[Dangerously turns away.]

[Nic E Dangerously]- "Things are complicated. Especially right now."

[Serenity narrows her eyes, crossing her arms.]

[Serenity]- "Because of *her*."

[A slight smile transforms NED's lips, curling them.]

[Nic E Dangerously]- "Maybe because of her, maybe not. There's alot of emotional baggage. I'm sure you understand, with all your... 'exes'."

[Serenity]- "That's not fair, Nic- I would have given it all up, all of it. Besides your little lovergirl isn't much better, probably worse. Atleast I didn't make a career out of it."

[Another grin. His mind is gasping for breathe, for relief. One shitstorm after another; and, he caught wind that Tyna Hilton has been signed, too.

Serenity kept her arms folded.

"So let me guess...Amber crawled back to you on her hands and knees. She should be familiar with that position."

"Don't talk like that. You don't know Amber as well as I do."

"Yes and Amber knows you better than I do. That might not have been the case. You know what I find funny...is that all the times you've told me that if Amber came back, you wouldn't want her. All the times you said she'd come back that it didn't matter to you, all that mattered was that we were trying to make a go of it. And its funny that now she comes back and now I come back and your in way over your head."

She unfolded her arms as she continued on.

"You know the night I told you I loved you, that was probably the happiest I've been. Then I realized that you can never love me, maybe that we me being naive, I thought I had grown out of that, but its obvious that I haven't. That's what the sad part is, but my first thing that I wanted to do here, was punch you so hard that you'd feel as bad as I do. I want you to feel as bad as I do, but then I found out that your more than likely will get back together with Amber, even if she left you."

"She had the choice and she made it. I had to make a choice too."

"That might have been the worse choice you could ever make. I poured my heart out but it won't be enough will it...I won't be good enough FOR YOU!"

She raised her hand to slap him, but he grabbed her wrist, pulling it down and looking at her.

"That's not true...things are just complicated."

"Your life is always complicated...not as complicated as mine."

[NED didn't have an answer for her; not right away. But he did know this was getting messy, really messy, and really quick.]

[Nic E Dangerously]- "I can't just make decisions and pick and choose like it's something that doesn't matter. This isn't deciding if I want the number two value meal or not, Serena. And trust me, getting back with Amber is the last thing on my mind; there's alot of detachment there, alot of personal issues dealing with what happened in APW. It's not so simple that it's oh, Amber's back, let's drill her everynight. Infact, if you haven't noticed, we're not getting along the best. But you wouldn't notice much with your face stuck to Tony Rich's."

[Serenity]- "That's not fair."

[Nic E Dangerously]- "What's not fair is you condemning me for something I haven't even done, while you yourself make your redebut by bashing in someone's skull for your new man."

[He still had her wrists locked in his hands, and, they pause, looking at each other for a moment, gazing. NED snaps out of it first.]

[Nic E Dangerously]- "No matter how complicated things are for you; it's no walk in the park for me. I'm coming back after jus tlosing the title only a couple months ago. I've got alot of pressure."

[Serenity]- "We could relieve alot of pressure..."

[She smiles, and her grin shines through the current anger and resentment, her warm skin is a nice feel. Their bodies press together, lips inches apart.]

[Nic E Dangerously]- "Good things come to those who wait."

[Serenity]- "You know how I hate waiting- No other guy would put me through all this!"

[Nic E Dangerously]- "I'm not some other guy."

She looked at him as he let her wrists go, but didn't push her away.

"You seem to be like them. Your choice is easy...you'll go back to Amber...you always do. For a moment, I would have liked to be hte one you couldn't live without."

"Your the one you ran away Serena, or have you forgotten that?"

"You didn't come after me either. You've never come after me and I always know why, but I always think you'll learn and I always think I'll learn, but we both know its never true."

She looked away from him, putting her hands on her hips as she ran a hand through her hair as he stood closer to her. He put a hand on her shoulder but she pushed it off, wiping at a tear.

"No we have no lesson to learn. Look, I'm sorry I didn't come after you, but were you really expecting me to?"

She turned around briskly and looked at him as he grabbed her wrists again, more than likely about her not hitting him.

"Yes I did. Maybe it was stupid, but I knew what I wanted and now..."

"What do you want now? Tony Rich?"

"I don't know what I want. Maybe its Tony or maybe its you, but you won't have me, remember I'm not good enough for you."

[Nic E Dangerously]- "... it's not that, Serena. You're good enough. It's just... a bad time. For both of us. You know how things are. You and your life and me and mine."

[Serenity]- "That's a bullshit answer. What's that got to do with anything, seriously? I mean, I com ehere just to tell you what's up-?"

[Her voice changes, becoming more challenging.]

[Serenity]- "And you're talking like it's some ancient secret, like you're so morally better than any other guy out there. Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. It's a simple yes or no. Do you want me or not, but instead we have to go through this game, over and over. I told you I'd be tired of waiting soon."

[NED's taken aback by this and her tone. She slinks back away from him.]

[Serenity]- "I was going to give up everything if you did, change my ways if you did. But that's not enough. It could have been something special."

[Her eyes narrow.]

[Serenity]- "But then *she* comes back and you turn into a blubbering vagina and life choices. Shit or get off the pot, Nicky."

[Wow.]

[Nic E Dangerously]- "Well... damn."

[Serenity]- "Well damn?"

[Nic E Dangerously]- "You're pretty hot when you're pissed off."

[Awkward silence. Then,]

[Nic E Dangerously]- "So uh, you wanna have sex?"

[Her face doesn't show it, but she's crackin. She smiles and then laughs, putting her face into her palm.]

[Serenity]- "Yeah right, yeah right... I just have no idea what to do with you. I want to walk out and close the door, and just not look back. But for some reason I'm hooked. Tony's probably walking around like a lost dog wondering where the hell I am and I don't care."

Serenity looked at him, half appalled and half excited at his statment but she did want to walk out but part of her didn't.

"So you got me flustered...good for you Nicky."

"Why do you call me that?"

"You have a problem with it now?"

"No I don't."

"Then don't complain. But I'm not having sex with you. Until you can tell me tell me that you love me, we are NOT doing the deed."

She stepped back and smiled as she leaned up against the wall and folded her arms across her chest; two could play at that game.

"Your telling me you don't want to have sex with me?"

"I'm not saying that."

Her eyes sparkled as she leaned fowards, "stumbling" towards him as he caught her; she looked at him as he smirked and she kissed him. A long kiss, she pulled away and smiled, but pushed herself away from him; she grabbed his wrists and smiled.

"Just what are you going to do little girl?"

"I'm not a little girl...I know what I like."

"And that is...Tony Rich?"

"Your funny...but Tony isn't what I was talking about."

[Serenity just throws her arms up in frustration.]

[Serenity]- "God if you weren't such a sissy, we could have been there and done it four times by now. What the fuck is the matter with you?"

[Nic E Dangerously]- "SISSY? What the hell woman...? Just because the local stop and go ran out of condoms because of the recent Serenity sale doesn't mean I'm some sort of puss that can't lay the hammer on a chick. Maybe I just don't feel like it."

[Serenity]- "Cuz you're gay?"

[nic E Dangerously]- "I'm not gay!"
