Always rushing,
beads of sweat brushing
as I lose my way.
Countless minutes ticking
cotton blouse sticking
as I search for what it is
I cannot say.

Exertions blushing
lost keys and rushing
wasting endless time.
Snatch a mouthful
a batch of hopeful
kisses long departed
that I cannot find.

EMG

Sounds like a touch of White Rabbit Syndrome ...lol...I like the flow of this...it's sharp and moves quickly along just as one would when late for work. Thanks for this. : )lb

thanks lb - I always seem to be in a rush when I go to work - and because I never leave things in the same place, spend endless moments  searching for my keys.

Thanks Ann - for me, there never seems enough hours in the day - and I seem to spend my time trying to catch up with myself.

Hi Emma
I really enjoyed this poem, I am always hunting for my keys and things, but am quite good at not being late, and generally make sure I am 10 minutes early, unless of course i forgetthat I've got to be somewhere and then I don't turn up at all, lol.

Thanks Scarlet

I'm notorious for missing appointments or getting the wrong day - I think I spend too much time dreaming lol

I'd missed this one slipping away, Emma, and as all say, very nicely capturing the harassment of the shortage of time. Very smooth rhythm, yet your words creating a slight panic in the mind.

Like all replies, lol, I 'steal time' to be on here during the day, or get so involved in something and frequently forget that someone is coming or that I have to be somewhere until the last second, so could identify with your inspiration.  Zy

Just wanted to echo everyone else Emma....I'm not usually one for rushing but lately I seem to have rather a lot on my plate so there's a bit of dashing too and fro going on, could very much identify with this.

Thanks Clive,

I get up early - yet somehow time still escapes me and I end up rushing to work - I'm usually blasted by Radio 3 in the morning

Thanks Zy,

I think I am a bad manager of time lol - and I never seem to leave keys etc in the same place - hence panic

Sometimes life is like that - an endless round of rushing and catching up - hope things calm down for you - I'm such a chaotic person most of the time, I'm still chasing my tail.
