I sit here and I type
I share my fears
my hopes my dreams
my inner secrets on the screen
I have no mask
this is my cupboard bare.

I share my nightmares
my struggles within
the beast who haunts me
and shadows that lurk
I have a mask
that conceals this cupboard
it keeps me safe

I have me myself and I
finding trust in self
I can share myself with you
I can share myself with another
I have a mask
is it  friend or foe
shall I take it off

A fire burns before me
I choose to be here
I step into my fear
I  step into the fire
let it consume me
transform
Choosing to live in a place within me
where no masks are needed.

Cara October 2006

Cara, I am so pleased you accepted my invitation, your poetry really does speak volumes to me.

This one in particular of all I have read in the other site even....is so much like something I would have written in a 'self' reflected moment of thought.

"I share my nightmares

and shadows that lurk
I have a mask
that conceals this cupboard

Words very close to home, Cara, I know where words such as these come from, poetry is an amazing exposure of our 'self' and you have used it well in this poetic comment, Zy

Hi Stella
I  write what is in my heart and the fingers type before I can balk
I have so many things I want to say.

I would not share here if I did not feel at home.
You have all been very welcoming and I really do feel like I can belong here.
You may not know just how significant that is for me.
thanks for your kindness
hugs
Cara

Thank you all for your posts.
I feel a little overwhelmed by it all
I am happy that my words speak to you

when I write my soul speaks
it is not me so much but a deeper part of me
that is intouch with the core of who I am
words give voice to the hidden depths within

Cara
