Today, I wear my silken shawl,
Bought from a stall of antiqueties.
It is not new, but aged threads
Woven, from a lifetime of another.

As I walk, I feel the eyes
Of passing Gentlemen
Follow my tiny steps
And I coyly finger
My jet choker, with it's
Oval cameo centerpiece.
My eyelids drop
In chaste defence
Should they think me free of type,
Then, with girlish gait,
I raise my head, haughtily,
Pointing my nose in the air,
And shake my imaginary
Cascade of ringlettes.
Returning home, I fold my shawl,
Lay upon the tissue paper
And place it into it's pretty box.

I gaze into the mirror...mmnnn
Tomorrow, I wonder,
And then I smile,
Tomorrow.....I 'may' wear,
My fishnet stockings
And black leather mini skirt.

That's a very charming piece Zydha, and reminiscences arose from the reading of your tale..........

Of course the 'may' does leave us with the hovering question - was there a postscript at all?

Best wishes
Rhumour

hahaha...the last six lines is the footnote, Dave,,
but I seriously did think of doing a sequel starting with the skirt and fishnet stockings,
but wasn't sure of where to take it precisely, .

I think I told you I got a Dongle stick as you advised, Dave, but it only worked whilest the chap was here and when I opened it at night .... my laptop couldn't recognise any connection, so we disconnected and backdated, but it's just a bad signal connection and an extenal wireless radio card, so I'm stuck with it till I return to UK and will buy another laptop, Zy

I love this ... it made me think of builders' wolf whistling ...and a girl who makes a good job of pretending not to like it

That's it precisely, Jen, a sort of  'Are we really who we appear to be?' wacky thought,

thanks,  Zy

"Woven, from a lifetime of another."  Cracking line!

The style of this could've walked straight out an Anne Rice novel, Zy. The clothes of the soul...

Yikes, Jen, sorry about my spelling of 'appear',

and thanks, Merlin, I like this piece myself and that was one of the lines I was happy with,
some flow out of their own accord, this is one of those, Zy

Loved the easy way you expressed yourself, enjoyed the read, very much.

Now, now, Maria, this is not moi, black fishnet stockings and leather mini skirt? I don't think so, lol,

Thanks, Maria, you are always so kind about my work, Zy x
