Gone again
An unopened flower
waiting to open
just like my heart
so young and so tender
The first rays of light
land down upon it
a tiny opening
just ever so slight
The flower uncurls
bit by bit
dew drops glisten
like shiny pearls
Just wait and see
its not long now
unfurling petals
for all to see
The light is shining
upon its heart
a new day has begun
and the bees are dining
A single bee
its feet outstretched
floats nearby
searching for his tea
It alights upon the flower
hunting for the nectar
the flower brings her petals in
she can’t help but cower
Please don’t hurt she wails
for my heart is tender
will you tiptoe in
and leave no trails
Last time it pained me
too much to bear
I cannot chance
my heart you see
The bee stopped, turned
and then flew away
it took a bit of my heart
never to be returned
The petals hung there wilted
its heart heavy with nectar
crying pitifully
again she had been jilted
The night it came without a care
so swift and dark
the heavy cent of nectar
still on the night air
So listen all and listen well
to the story being told
you have to open up your heart
or life becomes a living hell.
