What is Spam? Spam is unsolicited e-mail, news postings, or message board posting, pushing a point. For example, it can be an add trying to sell something, or an urge to vote on a proposition. It could be someone joining a group or message board, for the sole purpose of promoting another site or issue. If you didn't ask for it, didn't sign up on a mailing list related to it, and didn't leave your e-mail address on a web form asking for more information on it, it's spam! If it's in your mailbox, the sender might be liable for a $500 fine per instance. Some of those laws have been up held in court. Read more about Spam by clicking here. I'd like to thank the people at the Stop Spam FAQ page for providing the above information on Spam. All graphics, copyright 2003 by Sheryl @ Days2 |
