Hi, I'm new to this, I was reading your lovely poems and wanted to add one of my own. I haven't wrote one about my own feelings yet, but last year I was watching a children in need advert on tv and I decided to sit and write this poem. Even though I wrote it about a child there are many women who go through the same thing.

THE INNOCENT CHILD

The innocent child,
So pure, so sweet,
Who lives in a world,
No child should meet.

So dark, so cold,
So full of lust,
So full of hate,
So empty of trust.

Lost in a world,
Known only to her,
Alone with here cries,
Nobody can hear.

She feels no love,
Nor knows what it is,
She's never recieved,
So how can she give.

Who will help her?
There's nobody there,
To ease her pain,
Or show her they care.

He devours her sorrow,
The giver of pain,
He feeds on its power,
Blind to his shame.

Thankyou for reading my poem. I am so sorry you were that child, my heart aches for you.  I suppose in a way I'm lucky because thats the one abuse I never had to cope with. I haven't had what you could call a very happy life, but I know there's one out there waiting for me. I will have it one day. Just coming on here for the past few days and reading what everyone has wrote has helped me so much. THANK YOU.

Lots of LOVE and HEART FELT THOURGHTS to you All

Bev

Just got round to reading this, i know i should have read it earlier, smack on the legs for me.
But like Rusty i too was that child and the poem so describes the feelings of complete lonliness.
Fortunately im a big girl now and hopefully have got past that.
Thanks again Bev, sometimes we just need to be reminded on how far we have come.
