Hey, like me, is everyone out there being bombarded with spam email with lots of colons (:) in their junk mail? Especially this one: SA:TIS:FY HER. I got so tired of seeing tens of emails with colons in them that I did something about it. I now get NONE with colons  . Here's what to do:
From your hotmail inbox in the top right corner click on "Options", then click "Custom Filters". Click "New Filter". Beside one of the little boxes choose the wording that results in this:
Deliver mail that contains : in the from name will be automatically deleted.
Make sure you type the colon there, tick the little box, and voila! From now on you'll not receive ANY emails with a colon in the "From name".
P.S.~~This works for any word in recurring emails that you want to filter out, not just the colon. You can have as many as ten filtered words. |
