GRAPHICS 101
To place a graphic (or picture) in your message(s):
1. Find a graphic anywhere that you want to put in a message. (Be careful of any copywright rules or laws!!) There are many, many graphic sites on the web, just enter 'graphics' or something similar in your web search engine field and it will bring up a selection of tons of graphic sites! I have listed a few in the 'Graphics Links' page on left also. Please add your own sites if you find some good ones and want to share with us! :)
2. Right click on top of the graphic and a menu will appear.
3. Right click on 'Save picture as' and then save it to a file somewhere on your harddrive. (remember where you saved it)
4. If you want the pic to go into a message board, place your cursor at that position.
5. Click on the pale, square icon on top of your message that looks like a mountain or a picture.
6. A screen will then appear to choose the file where your graphic(s) are stored.
7. Click on the 'My Computer' tab (or whereever you stored the graphic)
8. Click on the 'browse' on that screen and find the file you stored your graphic in.
9. Click on it and it will bring it forward to the 'Browse' field on your screen.
10. Then click on 'Add Photo' and it will add the graphic to your message. This may take a few seconds depending on how big the graphic file is so be patient!
Hints: You can move the graphic around in your message but you must make sure that your cursor is directly before or after the graphic. You can then press 'Enter' or the space bar, whichever accomplishes where you want to move it to. With a bit of practice you will get comfortable with how this process works. Have fun!
It is best to copy the graphic to your hard drive in order for it to remain there (that way you have a 'link' to it) If you do a simple copy/paste from the menu when you click on the graphic it may disappear eventually because there is no 'link' to it. Most graphic or clip art sites will require that you do save it to your hard drive file as your own link.
I have stored many graphics in the 'Photos/Graphics/Toons' page on the left that you are more than welcome to use or practice with!
If you use hotmail, this same process will work. Good luck everyone! Enjoy learning how to use graphics.
