Many states are considering it. A few have already put the law into effect. But how feasible is it to enforce? Can they actually enforce this law with the technology(BlueTooth, etc.) of today? Should there be a age limit? My home state of South Carolina just enacted a law requiring all individuals under 18 yrs of age to not be able to use the cell phone while driving. Is this fair? What do you think?

I think it's a great idea...

If you have a cell phone in your car at the time of an accident...They automatically check to see if it was "in use" at the time...If it was, you are considered at fault, no matter what the circumstance..

We managed to get along fine before cell phones were around...we can do it again...or at the very least...pull over...

I was involved in a collision where I was at a dead stop, and the guy didn't even brake because he was on the phone and distracted..

Yes, it's dangerous to distract the driver.I have seen people trying to drive, drink coffee, fix must up hair, eat and correct children all while on the cell phone..

yeah I am not too keen on people in cars with mobiles and I can see the dangers there...Try driving and holding a mobile...you got no hope of turning the steering wheel

Alot have been saying...well I smoke and change the radio station and CDs in the car...whats the difference!

If its dangerous...use your head and common sense....DONT DO IT!!

So YES I am all for it being banned!
We got the same rule in Australia...

Like Tushy said... its illegal to talk on the phone while driving in Australia... my dad learnt the hard way....$250 fine and three points (or 2 points, not quite sure) off his license.
I dont answer the phone when Im driving, I figure if its important, the person ringing will leave a message.

YES!!!!! I think texing should be banned while driving!!!! there have been alot of accidents and near accidents here bcause of talking on the phone or texing. if the blue tooth or someother handsfree device would work then yes use it or have some respect for other ppl and turn the DARN THING OFF!!!
I drive during the rush hour traffic here around Alexandria, La. i have 10 to 12 mentaly and physicaly handicapped ppl in a big van, i have seen ppl texing and / or talking on the cell and they cant see US because they got that DARN thing superglued to their ear.  yes we lived without them for YEARS,
and if its that important to answer it then pull off the road.

Here it is already forbidden to talk on a cell phone when driving, unless you use a handsfree device. I agree, cell phones are a distraction and with so many traffic accidents - if we can eliminate a cause for many of them, we should
