Alcohol Concern has called upon the Government to prosecute parents who give alcohol at home to children under 15 years of age.

Do you think parents should be prosecuted for giving their children alcohol?

Did you drink alcohol as a child?

Would it be a good way to prevent later alcohol-related problems in  young people?

If they let them just taste a drink I fail to see any harm, but if they let them get falling down drunk thats a different story! But does that also pertain to religeous practices such as receiving communion!

Why do we always have to get the government involved..why can't we be the responsible parents we were meant to be..and set good examples for our children..children learn by what they see not so much by what they are told..Getting the government involved just means giving them the chance to screw it up like they do just about every other piece of legislation they are entrusted with.

Alcohol shoud be an ADULTS ONLY thing. It is not, and never should be for minors.  However, I believe the age of consent should be lowered to 18.  That is the age you can pose as a nude model, That is the age you can die while fighting for your country. An alternative would be to raise the age for military svc and nude modeling to 21. I would agree with either scenerio.

Yeah, I would leave the government out of this.

As legal age for voting is 18, I think the age limit for serving alcohol should be 18 as well.

Here in Cyprus they are quite liberal on the drinking. My son is 16 and I do let him have a drink or two occasionally. He gets alcohol served at other peoples' homes and  at parties anyway, so I don't think it's a big issue. And he can go to the super market and buy alcohol, nobody check id's. Actually you don't often see people or young people drunk here, even in the clubs, so that's sort of not an issue here.  And my son hasn't gotten flat drunk yet, so we are ok for now.
