There is one thing
Without which
There is naught
That has any import
Under the universe.
Of all things divine
It stands out the greatest
This one thing is the sharpest sword
That cuts across class creed and colour
It is the fire that consumes jealousy
The tempest that sweeps away resentment
This one thing without which
There is naught
Is love!
Love accommodates faults
With tolerance
And forestalls anger
With patience.
Love uproots suspicion
And plants trust in its place.
Pride, selfishness, arrogance, rudeness, all crumble
Under the overpowering gaze
Of love.
Love is the unyielding rock
Upon which understanding is built
And the brightest lamp
That sheds light on our happiness.
Love is the most pleasant aroma
That surrounds kindness
And the sweetest melody
That accompanies forgiveness
That cornerstone that gives strength
To friendship
And the salt
That gives taste to marriage.
The purity of love
Has no equal
Its beauty no word
Can describe.
Hope may wane and disappear
Faith may shake and crumble
But TRUE LOVE
Endures all things
Because LOVE is the greatest.
