I've done the eBay thing for a couple of yrs now. It's a hit or miss. Last year I did very well, selling over $1k in just a few months. This year so far has been just the opposite. During the holidays is the best time if you have what folks are looking for. It's a small investment that can possibly yeild decent results, then again, maybe not. Keep in mind shipping costs, too. Smaller items cost less and may sell better.

Good luck,

Yes I have sold my work amonst other items on e-bay. I agree with the hit and miss thery.
I have had 2 portraits thus far this year been ended early because of copyright. They were portraits of Toby Keith and Keith Urban. I was simply asked not to list them again or I could be suspended. Some artist do not mind as I have sold many others with no problem. Occationally the record lables and or public promoters will go in and run a check. Christmas is the best time if you have time between shows. And can become hectic but a good way to pick up some christmas cash. I also agree that shipping costs are an issue. I have found selling my portraits matted but not framed has work well as they are very light weight. You can even advertise free shipping on them which draws alot more business. Another thing to concider is once you start listing them, some will seee the ad and e-mail you to request there favorite singer/ actor etc. I get alot of repeat business just using E-Bay as an advertising tool.
I also sold used pro- sporting attire for 4 years during the holidays. I bought cheap at junk stores and auctions as well as estate sales and garage sales. Always bought only mint condition. Bought low , sold high. E-bay can be very time consuming. I haven't yet had the time to get my Christmas stuff going as I still have a few big shows coming up soon.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions as I will be glad to share my experience.
Deb
