I went to my first craft sale (Christmas) the other day in my small community and had a positively excellent 5 hours I sold $450.00 worth, I could not believe it as it was my first sale. However many people were asking me for Christmas tree ornaments and as there are more craft sales coming up in the area I have started to cut them. Now for my problem, how much to charge for those small ornaments, I was thinking of finishing them in glitter or will I be putting to much time into them for what I can charge. I appreciate your input, as you have more experience at this than I do.
Thank you

Leo

Leo,
What are you making them from, ply, think solid wood, plexi? the medium you use could determine the price you charge.
You might also want to have a few 'raw' ones that your customers can paint for themselves .. a bit cheaper than the finished ones.

I am cutting them from 1/8 Baltic Birch, the patterns I am using are from the book "Christmas Ornaments" by  Tom Zieg.

If you will go to my album: http://groups.msn.com/SSPPhoto2/leosattemptsatscrolling.msnw you will see the pieces that I had for sale. The religious portraits went well as did the mantel clocks, the crowning sale was the Pomeroy clock. I did not think that a piece that expensive would sell in this comunity as things have been slowing down here for the farmers with the mad cow scare and the border being closed to cattle.

Daryl I got the pattern of the squirel out of a pattern book called "North American Wildlife Patterns For the Scroll Saw" by Lora S. Irish and I just added the clock to the pattern.
