Ron, I believe your saw is the older 20" VS that you need a special wrench to tighten or loosen the bottom clamp. There is not enough room on the bottom to put the newer type Quickset II clamp in there. I would try to glue the emory cloth to the clamp if you can get in there to do it. My first saw was that same model and I can't just remember how much room there is under the table. I believe you can tilt the table enough to get at the clamp. Some silicone glue on the emory cloth and let it dry over night. Clean the clamp good with mineral sprits or paint thinner before gluing. Hope this helps.
