Many people think that when they develop mediumship (clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience) that they have reached the ultimate in spiritual attainment but they are sadly deluded.  Mediumship and psychic awareness are only helpful steps on the mountainous journey home but it will not stop your progress if you do not develop these abilities first.  It is the awareness of your own spiritual essence that is most important.  Once you gain this, you may find you have worked your own small miracle!     I often read in books and articles that it takes many years to develop mediumship and this statement often puts people off. I know â€?because I have been teaching this kind of development for a number of years â€?that with a few months dedication it can be done quite easily.  If you decide to sit to develop your mediumship, you will soon begin to understand that all your abilities are a normal, natural part of your physical and spiritual makeup while here in this world.  Then you will gain concrete proof that life goes on after physical death.  This in itself gives you confidence to go on seeking and searching for the real truths of life. If you do develop mediumship, you will learn that it is a two edged sword.  It cuts through blind faith when you ‘knowâ€?something to be true. You then do not need faith. It cuts through superstition, fear and spiritual ignorance of the unknown and gives you absolute proof that life is eternal.     Once developed, your mediumship can be used to help those suffering the pain of bereavement but it would help them even more if you helped them to come to a higher understanding of life.  Many receive the comfort of a message from their departed loved one but do nothing to find out the truths for themselves.  They feel comforted when they believe their loved one lives on but if they began developing themselves, they would not need to believe.  They would know!  If you think about it you would not book a holiday abroad without first picking up some leaflets to give you an idea of what to expect in that country.  And yet for a journey that we all must take at some time in the future, the majority never feel the need to find out for themselves what it is really like on the ‘other side of the veilâ€?  They are content to accept someone else’s ideas or perceptions. To me this does not make any sense.  Some friends assured me that I would love a certain country for a holiday but when I got there I hated it!  So never trust another’s judgment of a place until you test it out yourself.     Time is growing short for this generation of souls (the same generation that Jesus spoke about when he said, ‘This generation shall not pass until these things I say come to passâ€?.  It is up to everyone to mature as a spiritually aware entity with the understanding to protect themselves from negative vibrations.  Awareness is your shield and your protector and so we hope that if you are already aware of your own spiritual identity, these teachings may help you progress a little further.
