"We have monthly play days for children, a monthly potluck with a speaker who helps us understand one aspect or another of the spirit world and how to access it or about healing. 
 
We have a weekly Search for God group (like G-11, which is an email debating from cayces teachings) and also a monthly meeting for parents and professionals who work with intuitive children.  Then we also give readings and will soon start a dreamwalking class.  We have a dianetics auditing group which is based on Scientology.  That is not led by us, but rather someone rents the space."
 
 
     Place of Light           
 A Place of Light is a center dedicated to the support of intuitive children and their families.  What we offer you is a place where you can speak freely to a listening ear about your children's experiences, your frustrations with labels such as ADHD, ADD, austistic and other DSM labels, as well as your joys and concerns.  If your child is afraid to go to sleep at night because of what is seen or if your child refuses to enter certain areas of your home or other places you might visit, we can help.  It is our belief that many behaviors that are labeled as being mental illnesses are actually manifestations of intuitive abilities. 

Our gatherings for adults have brought much insight and trust as to the nature of individual intuitive abilities.  People who have come to A Place of Light are no longer bothered about the sudden coolness in the air they may experience, the flash of movement caught in the corner of the eye or the sudden knowing of an event.  They understand and work with these abilities.

Intuitive Children

It seems that intuitive children are arriving with nearly each new birth.  You have no doubt heard of the Indigo Children among other names for the children being born with a heightened level of consciousness.  In this center, we provide a safe haven for these children and their families to learn and share a sense of community.

The term psychic children does not quite describe the abilities of these children.  For they have a deep spiritual connection to the universe.  Their concern is for the spiritual growth of all.  Thus we choose to speak of the intuitive abilities of the children.

We are very pleased to present to you our understanding of Intuitive Children in our book, Edgar Cayce on the Indigo Children.  Co-authored by Peggy Day and susan gale, the owners of A Place of Light, this book provides you with both anecdotes and factual information about the children and programs that serve them.  We also draw upon the Cayce Readings to provide the reader information on tips for raising and caring for children.  Published by A.R.E. Our Source, Our Ideal, Our Work

Much of our work has been developed from the application of the Readings of Edgar Cayce.  Our ideal is to be of service to those children who are here to raise the spiritual consciousness of us all.  We work hard to put self to the side and listen to the small still voice within, while creating a place where others can do the same.

Through our web site, we wish to offer support to those who wish to learn more about these gifted children or want to talk about their experiences with intuitive children.  We offer many classes on topics from gardening to making mandalas.  However, our most important goal is to provide a safe place where all can freely discuss their intuitive gifts and exercise them in a natural and supported way. 

During the summer months we have a three-hour morning program that has an environmental theme.  Children are invited to enjoy our wooded lot and to learn about the large and small delights of this natural setting.  Some of our topics include The World of the Tree, Small Things, The World of Bugs, and Eco-Systems.  Please take a look at the What We Do page for more information. 

Being a Part of the Community

Once a month, for adults and children, we have a gathering where we can share a potluck dinner, art, music, and good companionship.  For those who work with children, we offer Classroom of Compassion and Creative Response to Conflict workshops.

For those of you in Massachusetts, we have created a yahoo group, Children with Light.  Through this group, you will be able to post messages to others in the area who are interested in learning about or sharing their intuitive experiences.  Membership is open to children of any age in Massachusetts! 

Our newsletter is sent monthly telling you the events to be held at A Place of Light as well some stories and links to other programs that offer helpful services.  We do not share your e-mail information with anyone for any reason.
