The Spirit of Gratitude
It can't be said too many times - again and yet again - in dark hours and in happy hours, in sunshine and in rain ... Be thankful - yes be thankful - and your thankfulness exude - by living in the spirit of a radiant gratitude.
In looking round to make complaints, you miss the other things. Chances - opportunities - fresh starts - new openings. They're all waiting there for you, but you must do your part. Take a different viewpoint, and you'll have a change of heart.
Be grateful for the little things. And if your faith is strong - the channels will be opened - and the big things come along ... Nothing comes to those who are disgruntled and subdued - All good blessings come to those who live with gratitude.
Say it Nicely
Why not say it nicely when there's something to be said? Why not put a little bit of jam upon the bread? If you want to pass opinions or to criticise - if you want to help, to give an order, or advise - do it in a pleasant way and choose your words with care. Rubbing folks the wrong way up won't get you anywhere. Say it in a friendly tone and not offensively. A little tact - a little charm will make for harmony.
Some there are who take delight in being blunt and plain - but they get themselves in trouble giving needless pain. It doesn't cost you anything a little jam to spread. Why not say it nicely if there's something to be said?
Give Life Time
Do not get embittered when Fate seems unkind to you. You cannot see the outcome from your present point of view. Someday if you wait and trust the reason you will see. Give life time to spin the unseen threads of destiny.
All things work for good behind the pattern of events. Never lose your faith in the designs of Providence. Know that all is for the best and let there be no doubt. God's plans can't be hastened. Give Life time to work them out.
Both ways
You can't have it both ways and that is because - it's not in accordance with life's basic laws. You can't eat your cake and enjoy the same slice - at teatime tomorrow; you can't eat it twice.
You'll never be trusted when once it is found - you run with the hare and hunt with the hound. You must not complain over bills on the mat - if money you've squandered on this and on that ... You can't walk due east with your eyes on the west. You have to decide what is right, what is best.
A heart without a hurt
A heart without a hurt in it is like an empty well.
A heart that never knew a grief is like a hollow shell - where nothing ever wakes an echo to revive again - the long forgotten memory of ecstasy or pain. The eyes that never shed a tear of pity or regret - are the eyes of someone who has never really met - face to face with Life and with the challenge that it brings - seen through other people's troubles, tears and sufferings.
The one who never had a scar can never understand - the compulsion of compassion and of Love's demand ... He has missed the inner meaning at the core of things. A heart that never suffers is a heart that never sings.
When you get to the end of a dream
When you get to the end of a dream - and the future looks hopeless and grey - Things are never as bad as they seem - though your heart may be breaking today. You will soon see the sun shining through - though at first it is only a gleam ... Never say life is over for you - when you come to the end of a dream.

Chosen for service
Be thankful for the chance to lend a hand. Be glad of every opportunity - to comfort someone in distress, bestowing hope and happiness, and doing something good for somebody.Consider yourself fortunate when called upon to give - your time, your money or your sympathy. To supply another's need is a privilege indeed ... It's wonderful to think that you can be - used by God for purposes of mercy and of love.Alas, the willing hands are all too few. The Providential charity - must work through human agency. Great is the honour if He chooses you.
Ripples
Throw a little stone into the middle of a lake �watch the rings of ripples and the circle that they make �troubling the water as if a storm had blown �All the deep and hidden depths, disturbed by one small stone
Throw a stone of malice, though it be a whispered word �into someone’s life �and how much water will be stirred! �Trouble reaching others lives in ever widening rings; who can tell where it will end, and how much pain it bring?
Every stone we throw into the mighty pool of life �makes a ring of happiness �of joy or woe or strife �The effects of every act reach out to the unknown �rippling into Time �So think before you cast a stone.
Time for Meditation
Time for meditation is a deep necessity �to those who seek for spiritual peace and harmony �Time for contemplation of the world beyond our sight �Presences that walk within our darkness clothed in Light; Love �the mystery of Life �the Beauty of the Word �Ancient music of the wind �the Sea �the tree �the bird; all the starry universe too vast for eye to trace �God �and all the whirling planets �held in boundless space.
Meditate upon these things and earthly cares will seem �like the unsubstantial little shadows of a dream �Draw apart from mental stress in prayer and quietude; then go forth into the world with faith and strength renewed.
