The poor guy . . . all he wanted to do was deliver the package to me. Where I live we got hit hard overnight with around 8 inches of snow. Early afternoon I look out the window and see a FedEx truck in the neighbor's drive way and his wheels are a-spinnin'! I keep an eye on him for a while, and finally after 15 minutes or so I decide that maybe he could use some help, because although he has his truck turned around, it's still in the neighbor's drive. I bundle up and run out with a large cup of rock salt and a shovel. He pours the salt near the rear tires, but to no avail. He had the snow all torn up in the drive, and in the yard. Yikes! I'm thinking, "the neighbors are not going to be happy to see this." I check out the front of the truck and it's buried in a snow drift; he's not going anywhere without help. So I offer to let him come in my house out of the wind (very windy today too), out of the cold, and a cup of hot chocolate while he waits for the tow truck. He does and eventually the tow truck arrives. Even the tow truck is spinning his wheels in the snow! So I made a mental note to call the neighbor lady as soon as I see she's home. When I call she said, "yeah, I was wondering what had happened." I explained saying that I wanted to inform her how it happened. She gets all in a huff because the guy didn't "bother" to leave a note for her. I said, "I'm telling you now what happened." That wasn't good enough for her. I said, "I'm sure the ground is frozen and there will be no damage to your yard, and the tow truck was never in your yard, he stayed on the road and stretched out a cable to the truck." We hang up. A few minutes later, she's knocking on my door, her phone plastered to her face, asking me what my address is. I'm thinking, "Did she REALLY call FedEx to complain???" I tell her our address and she's gone, giving FedEx an earful. Seriously, is there a worse waste of time and energy, or what??! The guy was somewhat of a new driver and didn't usually deliver to residential. He's probably used to delivering in town where streets are plowed early, and driven on a lot. So, maybe not as funny as I thought, but my neighbor is a hoot. |

So, here comes the fedex guy, same guy who got stuck, except now it's 80-some degrees and muggier than a steam room. My kids and I are in a bathing suits, mine a little bikini, and he's here to deliver another package. How funny for him to see me in my tiny suit when last time we were all bundled up trying to keep warm! What a difference a few months makes. |

Was he able to laugh at getting stuck in February? |

I doubt it. We didn't talk about February. I'm thinking he would rather forget about it. I think he was a little uncomfortable coming into a stranger's home with her 2 children.
That and I didn't even know it was FedEx until he got out of the truck and saw his shirt. He was driving a leased truck because his was in the shop or something. That's all we talked about. |
