| Hey i want to upgrade my varmint rig (NEF Handi 223rem.) I looked at two, a Rem 7 in 243 and a Savage 111 in 223. I do not have any plans on having another deer rifle put i do like the flat shooting of the 243 and also like the cheap 223 ammo. Also my girlfriend might hunt ( i am will take her out to watch me this fall for deer) so the 243 in the Rem 7 would be perfect for here as a deer rig. Help please????? I am currently leaning on the 243. Thanks mefishme |

Not much question that the .243 is a great choice if you mean to use as a varmint round, and let the girlfriend use it for deer. This is even better if you reload as you can use 55Gr bullets for varmints and 100Gr quality bullets for deer. |

I must agree with Rooster. In your situation the .243 sounds like it would be the better choice. I am not so much of a varmit hunter, but for larger game the 100 gr. and 105gr. bullets loaded with IMR4350 will do an outstanding job. Good luck and good hunting; Toomuch |
