Just got my Browning catalog for 2004. In it at the beginning of the Rifle section, they have a WSSM & WSM section(Winchester Super Short Mag & Winchester Short Mag). They are saying that a 55 gr 243 has a possible muzzle velocity of 4,060 FPS! I am no expert, but that is pretty fast I believe. I was just wondering if anyone has any infomation on these bullits. I don't know anything about those rifles so I really can't comment on them, but that FPS seems a little high to me. If this is true - 4,060 FPS - I want one. |

This FPS is correct. I own a .300 WSM and love it. It has a velocity of 3200 FPS and plenty of knock down power. The WSSM's are more of a smaller game cartridge. |

It just seems to me that the barrels won't last with that kind of velocity. I don't know about you but I want to pass my guns along to the next generation. |
