butterperch, the 257 Weatherby Mag. is an excellent caliber. I own one and hunt groundhogs, Whitetail deer to black bear with it. The accuracy is out standing too! I can't say enough about it. Mine is the Weatherby Accumark MarkV in 257WM. But Ammo is quite expensive, so Reloading is a must. A good round that I have found is Nosler 100 gr. Ballistic tip. that seems to be the most accurate out of mine. |

And even better news, the new Weatherby Vanguard is available in the .257 Weatherby. At least you can afford the gun! |
