NO SIN MORE HORRIBLE

(or is it
NO SIN LESS HORRIBLE?)
Make abortion the issue on November 4th.

This election is all about trust. Whom to trust with our economy, our national security, and our nation’s future. However, proponents of Barack Obama are out in force to make their candidate appear the most trustworthy choice for our next president. I disagree. Volumes could be written on his dishonesty, his deception, and his careless regard of personal associations. Only Senator John McCain has proven himself an honorable servant of his nation. Only Senator John McCain has shown his patriotism to the point of torture. Only Senator John McCain has viewed human life to be of such importance that he had willingly accepted someone else’s child into his home without question. When John McCain speaks of his personal devotion to human life, he speaks with the authority of personal dignity. Barack Obama does not. Barack Obama holds human life in such low esteem that he will not make all sacrifices to safeguard it. Instead, he deflects attention by saying that certain pro-life legislation was contaminated with “pork?or our nation needs universal healthcare to prevent abortions. It does not. The only thing that our nation needs to end abortions is a pro-life president who is not afraid to understand that if we continue to allow abortions within this nation, nothing else matters.

Does Barack Obama represent true civil rights? No, he does not. As poor as his background was, he was still given a chance at life, which very well might see him emerge as America’s first black president. But what of the millions of black babies that were murdered before they even had a chance to “have a dream? Do they not possess civil rights? Many people claim that a woman has a “right?to choose to be pregnant or not. What of the young women murdered every day who do not have a chance to see their first day outside of the womb? Are they not equal to babies given that chance? What of my late wife Sara, who was born three months premature? Are babies still in the womb after six months any less human than she was simply because they are fortunate enough to remain within the trust of their mother’s womb for the remaining three? Abortion is not at all about choice, it has everything to do with trust.

God, or chance, take your pick, entrusted a mother with the most precious gift imaginable. The infant growing within the womb places profound trust within its mother that she will take care of it and provide comfort, love, and opportunity. Even many years later, when things go horribly wrong, many of us find ourselves retreating to this fetal position of unconquerable trust. The action represents a faint memory of when we placed ourselves totally in trust with another human being, one that assured us of our importance and gave us their unconditional love in return. Sometimes, they could not keep us. Sometimes they even treated us horribly. Yet, they still gave us life.

You might think that abortions represent a choice between a woman and her doctor. You are merely distancing yourself from the horrible break in trust that exists whenever a woman decides to terminate the life growing within her body. It is an act that serves no purpose but to elevate the woman to a deity. No one ?repeat, no one ?can claim another innocent human life without suffering through the judicial process. Except women who choose to terminate their unborn. Our Supreme Court justices, particularly those serving in 1973, have committed the most heinous act of mistrust imaginable. If we cannot trust them with the most vulnerable of citizens, then how can we trust them with our day-to-day affairs?

The politicians who seem to waver on doing everything within their power to end all abortions reflect upon a multitude of reasons for voting in contrast to their self-professed beliefs. Can we trust them then with lesser affairs? If they do not care about the health of the unborn, can we trust them with our own healthcare? If they merely treat the procedure of abortion as a political tool or an economic device, can we really trust them with our full economy or our national security? There is no issue as critical, as damning, as infinitely horrible as the act of procuring an abortion (save for, perhaps, denying the life of a failed abortee ?something that Barack Obama is guilty of).

If the most precious of human lives ?our unborn children ?do not warrant value within our society then we cannot prosecute those who maim and molest our children. If we cannot secure any child’s rights then we have no basis to care about our paychecks. If we do not care about the income and welfare of adults, then we certainly cannot care about the homeless, the sick, or the elderly. All of these “problem people?had, at least, a chance at life. The aborted have not. In the forty-five million (45,000,000+) plus babies brutally torn from their mother’s wombs, how many could have found cures for cancer, AIDS, diabetes? How many could have fought the struggle for civil and worker rights? How many could have lowered our social security debts by paying into the system? When we broke that most precious of trusts ?the physical and emotional bond between the unborn and their mother ?then nothing else really matters.

We need not worry about climate change for if we cannot care for the here and now, we will never be worthy of subsequent generations. We are a spoiled lot, we are. Never more than a thought or two away from eternal damnation. Those that complain about the thousands of deaths in Iraq or from the war against terror are the first to ignore the tens of millions killed in the name of convenience. Those who are opposed to drilling within ten miles of our shoreline are the very first to deny the unborn a proper burial. Those that scream bloody murder over the mere wearing of a fur are the first to line their wallets with the “fees?incurred from terminating the most precious life we know of.

Anyone who has ever willingly supported ?in person or in absentia ?abortions or legislation, which makes abortions possible, is therefore guilty of the most heinous crime ever invented by mortal man. Hitler led to the murder of millions of lives. Saddam Hussein led to the murder of hundreds of thousands of lives. Josef Stalin purged tens of millions from the old Soviet Union. Only those who were aborted never had an opportunity to fight back. We simply broke their trust and if you think that President George W. Bush horribly destroyed our economy, just imagine what God is going to do with us once He decides that we are no longer worthy of any trust.

For the record, most decent, law-abiding Christians that I know are also adamant gun people. It is that basis of protecting innocent human lives that carries with it the knowledge of self-protection and self-preservation.

In fact, were one to raise the issue, I know some people that own guns that do great damage to the pro-gun lobby. Issues cannot be segregated, it's all about how we live as people.

Ya know, the issues outside of gun laws are the reason I belong to no political party. I'm conservative as hell, but there are too many issues that prevent me from becoming a Republican. Like wise, there are too many issues I disagree with for me to ever become a democrap.
"I am an Independent voter!"

Gentelmen
I apologise for the Post above! I should have counted to ten -or twenty
I replied as an outsider who been attacked from both sides..NON religous want my gun rights--religous want to control how I live my life.
However you started the non gun/hunting topic and surly you know the sensitive nature of the subject-Dont be supprised if you get intense replies.
Remember  there is a reason some families dont discuss religion or politics at family get togeaters.

HK,

No need to apologize. Free speech is our first right.

However, for the record, I never considered protecting innocent human life as merely a religious issue. I always thought that it was an American issue.

RS I couldn't agree with you more.  I'm not the most religious person, but I think that most of gun owners are fundamentally moral people, and therefore opposed to abortion, or any other form of taking an innocent life, aka murder.  Birth control is one thing, but abortion is not birth control, it's treating a human life as an inconvienience and throwing it away like something that went bad in the fridge.  If people don't want kids, they know what to do not to have them.

Llamamax,

Thanks! I've always said if someone can't take the responsibility for their own child, then they wouldn't take responsibility for their mortgage, their bills, their country, etc. etc.

RS:

Well said.  I don't post much, but I must say that I enjoy your articles.  You're not afraid to take on the tough issues and your articles are thought provoking.

I do agree with HK that the government or any other group should not mandate the size of a family, however; abortion is not a right.  The only rights we are guaranteed are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Everything else is a privilege and they can be taken away with the stroke of a pen.  Like llamamax said, "If people don't want kids, they know what to do not to have them."

Thanks for the post, RS
