For those of you who were unable to make it in, we had a great time yesterday afternoon. We had as many as 10 people in the room at the same time. But we still missed a few of our regulars! Where were you? LOL
Anyway. Things can get confusing at times trying to follow a conversation when you have that many people "talking" at once. So I thought I'd post a little list of a few chatroom tricks and etiquette, for the people that are new to this.
Following a conversation can be tough, but if you look at the list of names to the right of the chatroom, you can click on a persons name to highlight it. Then you have one of 3 options.
1. Click on the check mark below the list, and their name becomes marked in the main chat window for easier recognition.
2. Click on the little "balloon" and you can whisper them in a separate window for a private conversation. And finally,
3. Click on the circle with the line thru it to ignore them entirely. Their name will not show up in your main chatroom window.
4. Chatroom options. If you look below your chatroom window, you'll see the phrase "chatroom options" if you click on this line, you'll get a separate window come up where you can change your font or text color, decide to allow whispers or not, display emoticons(smiley faces) and several other options. Choose the ones you want and click on "Done" to set the options.
5. Need a short break? click on the coffee cup icon next to YOUR name, and you'll be marked as "away". Click on it again when you come back, and you'll let everyone know you are back again. And yes, you can still send a message while being marked as away. This is called hiding in your cup. lol
6. Have to go? Well make sure that when you tell us it's time for you to leave, you give everyone time to say goodbye. Don't just disappear. After all, you wouldn't tell someone on the phone you have to go, and then just hang up would you? Same thing goes here.
These are just a few things to get you started, and I'll add more as we go along. But don't be shy, feel free to drop in just to say hi, or ask a question about guns, ammo, or anything else you care to bring up for an opinion. We'd all be happy to hear from you!
